Paintball Jihad??

Now I wake up this morning and what do I see in big letters on page 2 of my local newspaper but:


"PAINTBALL CLOWNS BUSTED IN PAINTBALL JIHAD"

-The feds yesterday charged eight men who frequently played "military style paintball games" together in Virginia,with training for a terrorist style Jihad..
The men worked with Lashkar-i-Taiba,a designated terrorist group thats at war witj India in the disputed territory of Kashmir,according to an indictment unsealed yesterday in federal court in Alexandria,Virginia..
They used "Paintball Weapons and Equipment" to practice small-unit military tactics and simulate actual combat preparation for violent Jihad,the indictment said...


The article then just goes on about the group itself..So screw Jackass,Eminem,and your local twit who shoots roadsigns and cars from his house..Terrorists are trying to f*ck up our beloved game and seeing how lots of you get on about paintball being portrayed in a bad light,im interested to see your responses to this..

Maybe yes, maybe no

I saw a brief report on CNN about the arrests and while they used paintball visuals to spice up the report it sounded ridiculous. And those arrested denied doing anything except playing rec ball. Even if they are potential terrorists paintball has no realistic relationship to small arms tactics. Just ask Tampa S.W.A.T. who used to come out and get creamed routinely.

However stupid the association certainly isn't very helpful.

I gotta feeling that if this was Uk-side, we'd be in a whole load of trouble. I guess in your messed-up world it'll be tomorrow's 'fries' paper. Here, jesus there'd be questions in parliament.... probably begining with 'what the fk's paintball?', and following quickly with 'well then, let's ban it'.

Doh..Forgive my capitals in certain situations..Chalk it up to a public school education..And arent they from Florida??They definately dont know how to use butterfly ballots, but certainly not illiterate


And right now with all the wild and wacky stuffy banned over by u guys,what makes you think paintball isnt gonna be next??Guns and airsoft..Seems like the next logical step would be Paintball..And do u have anyone over there with the time and effort to lobby for it if it did come down to that??

when they tried to ban PB in germany players and distributors got together and raised funds to pay lawyers. they asked the big industry guys and the likes of scherrer and co. gave a lot. there were charity tourneys and big games and even people from other countrys like england gave money to stop the ban. it is possible but its hard work and you never know when the government tries it again cause some fools did some foolish things.

Well, good luck to them practicing small-unit combat tactics with paintball. "what do you mean it only holds 14 rounds?" I can just see them all in casualty with hands split from sliders and concussion from bolts flying in their faces.
