i am currently sorting out my expedition aspect of my gold duke of Edinburgh awards and as a requirement i need to participate in a new sport for 12 months as you could have guessed by now can i use this as a great reason to play paintball for a year 
if i joined a team etc or do you think that it wouldn't be accepted due to how relatively small the sport is compared to going to a basketball team or playing rugby ??
note that while participating in a new sport for a year doesn't mean going every week as long as it is on some sort of regular basis i.e once a fortnight or even once a month.
