I was talking about paintball with a friend and I brought up the subject of paintball blunders. I recalled a few silly mistakes made in tournies by myself and others....
I was renowned in my team some years ago for hitting bunkers on break out, physically that is. I always seem to slide in too hard. One tournament I slid hard into my bunker, to which it could not withstand and it fell away from me, leaving me knelt out in the open. Balls began to rain in so I made for the next bunker. Sadly a team mate had also started to make for the bunker, so it got rather cosey. Then probably the worst shot of my paintball life was witnessed by us both. Seeing someone break cover I lifted my gun and began to fire, sadly at the exact same instance my team mate popped up in front of me and took a single shot dead center of his hopper lid. I was gutted.
Another similar game where hitting my bunker hard didnt pay off, I managed to hit my remote hose on the initial run to my first bunker of the last game of the day. There was a crack, and a hiss, as my air system proceeded to offload all of my air through the snapped remote. I spent the next 4 mins running from bunker to bunker delivering paint to my team mates. Despite that we still won without a single man lost in under 5 mins. Did me a favour though I hate remotes since I was forced to convert to bottom line in a hurry
