Indeed effective range will be key. I would say that it would be less than a normal paintball.

I am basing that purely on that video and the arch the paintball was making as it hit the target. Hopefully it will be similar to standard paintballs though.

I still don't see it taking off. Gas efficiency isn't exactly #1 on peoples list of concerns when buying a marker and the reduction in paint cost has to be offset by the huge up-front costs for every player in replacing all their equipment.

The only people I can see benefiting from this are the manufacturers, not the players.

Interesting to note that Smartparts have just gone through a massive cull of their traditional .68 business while simultaneously pushing the .50 agenda with GiMilSim.

Tbh I hope the whole thing falls on its arse.

Well with limits on how fast you can shoot, and accuracy not getitng much better than it currently is, I see this being the main selling point. Just look at the bob long victory, hailed and respected for its efficiency

Almost every marker can have an insert made to work with it to shoot 50 cal.

Wrong, we get more paint for the same price, or less paint for a reduced cost.. works either way.

i dont really care about efficency that much but i can play cheaper then ive got no problem buying a new gun or an insert for a current gun.

Nah, I don't see many people coming off the field saying "damn, I wish I had a more efficient marker, as I ran out of air in that game". 5 min games at 10bps, does anyone run out of air now? Perhaps in scenario play, but not tournyball.

All of which will, I would imagine, be compromised in some way over a made-for-50-cal marker. Again it's benefiting the industry in having to buy said inserts, not us. And then we need to consider loaders....

We _potentially_ get more paint for our money (I won't hold my breath on us seeing all the savings) - however as already mentioned, it's going to take quite some time to recoup the costs of all the replacement hardware.

What? That was a totally relevant comment regarding the shift of SP's business interests, so shush.

than your stoopid :)
And you have poor manners and terrible colour co-ordination. :)
