Paint can vary in size from almost 0.67 to 0.69 and with naff paint you can get that in one box ( unusual but it has happened ) usually all the paint from a batch is consistent. Weather can affect it making the balls swell as they are Hydro scopic( I know its Phillic I'm a mad scientist trying to take over the world:D ) meaning it absorbs water some verieties are better than others as far as consistency of ball size is concerned.

All paint is .68 calibre but the reality is the actual size varies slightly from around .675 up to about .695. This is because of the manufacturing process. This is also why many players have a collection of barrels at various bore sizes or use a Freak set.

No way around it I'm afraid!
