Maths is a little out here, plus I think you forgot the 200 or so they all start with in their hoppers. I make it -

9 x 140 + 200 = 1460
6 x 140 + 200 = 1040
4 x 140 + 200 = 760

But in practice, how many players actually get to shoot all their paint in a game? This is the absolute maximum likely to be shot - if players started to run out then you'd soon find them carrying even more!
Add to that the players that are eliminated, e.g. at least one front player is often lost on the break for starters then other players as the game goes on; a full max (win the game without losing a player) is a very rare event indeed.
Don't forget as well that the very top teams, the ones most likely to be playing the most games & firing all this, are usually pretty well sponsored for paint so their costs aren't going to be anywhere near as much as the average tourney player pays for paint if anything at all.

seeing as you have to pull the trigger for each shot, thats still alot of work (even with a hair line trigger), has anyone herd of a player getting repetitive strain disorder (from paintball, not 'other activities")??

Well, generally speaking those who shoot that often aren't paying full price for paint or they wouldn't be doing it. Often times in the past I've had to sit out practices because I play back and playing too often would mean that I would have to go out with half as much paint as necessary to do the job, which would make for an unhappy me and VERY unhappy teammates. By the way, those paint figures mentioned above are for 10 man or maybe 7man Hyperball, or very intense games that end up being so either out of raw competition or just opportunity windows. I don't set out to shoot any particular volume of paint myself...if I see something to shoot at, I'll shoot it till it's out or out of sight. If I see all 5/7/10, if I can I'll get around to at least trying to shoot at all of them. If I don't see anyone...welll...I'd guess that'll be a short game and not in our favor! Simple, isn't it?

VW's are the game
There is one thing you are leaving out. Yes a person can shoot that much paint in a game if the circumstances are right. But you have to remember you can get shot on the break, gun problems, shot out right after or shortly after the break then your numbers have to change from game to game. I know at the 10 man the Corrosion guys shot 2 cases per person as an Average.

I once heard that a top American back player (forgot the name:confused: ) once shot a hopper and 13x140 pots. Thats 2020 balls in a game! Probably a 10man and a long game, but still.... a case a game is just overkill.

I had this thought as well,

Some teams do team paint, for tourneys. You all pool your resources so that the back players can fore more but the front players know they are covered.

This also why I limit my play to as much as i can get away with.

As a back player sometimes i find i lay alot of paint down other days you fire less and other days you get shot straight out.

But yes it is a mind blowing thought how much paint these people use.!!!!

Any decent team will do a team paint bill rather than individuals paying for their own.
OK, as a back player I'll shoot at a minimum a hopper & 3-4 pots in a game (provided I'm not out early:( ) while the front guys can shoot as little as a hopper & maybe one pot. BUT - just how far up the field will the glory boys get without me laying it down on the break, & keeping the opposition in while they make their flashy moves?

}{y8ri|) - wasn't having a dig at your maths honest, just thought the numbers looked a bit low if anything & checked. I cheated & used the calculator on the PC :D
