50 grenades and 50 smoke me and friends yesterday were using, the same type featured PGI mag .

most of the time the grenades fell apart. being a front player a good amount of grenade's head my way one exploding mid air inches from my head , it sent me deaf for the rest of the game but paint didnt show
The fuses are unreliable either not working or breaking off. and when they do work the effect is less than worth the money.

as for the smoke one on its own may cause less cover than needed but on the other hand used in numbers of 2 or 3 they provide a think amount of cover GOOD BUY

i can advise throwing the grenades anyway even if they dont spark. i dropped a grenade i had atempted to light on the ground next to me , i couldn't see any sign of a spark , picking my marker up again to lay down paint i feel the pop of the grenade at my legs but with a quick paint check from a marshal a second very close explosion didnt put a drop of paint on me

hopefully i'll be trying out the tippmann plattoon buster grenade

really hard to get a reliable paint grenade. I used water balloons filled with paint at staarwars as I couldn't find a decent grenade.
Only good for a laugh anyway. Plus they are a fire hazard :)
Anyone ever used a decent paint grenade? might save you some money if someone has a recommendation.

never seen a good paint grenade, andf i've thrown a few, lets face it thunderflashes are the best thing to go throwing, there cheaper, throw further and break concentration better being louder (after all it,s the morale and concentration we're trying to break isn't it?)

as for smoke, everyone in every big game should get at least 2 in thier welcome pack and instruction they must be used by the end of the day for a little atmosphere!

You know those mini attack alarms you can get for about 50p. Kind of like mini air horns.

They are great for chucking in to a building before you drive it. Scares the sh!t out of everyone in there as they think it will explode plus they can't hear a word they are saying to each other.:D

ive not really used any pyros for years but we did used to have a giggle lobbing thunderflashes about at an indoor site....everyone went home a bit deaf!!!

smoke grenades are great for big games and walk on stuff tho!

paint grenades on the other hand are 99% pointless and a waste of cash

I was playing a big game at the old Liphhook hospital site years ago - when some enterprising individual lobbed a full sized signal smoke into the building we were in...

.. (visualise whole building lost in red smoke)

...the game had to be stopped for about 10 mins as we were led out, blind and just about able to breathe...

Ace day though! Strange how the memory plays these tricks on you. :D

dude the only way u are going to get some one out with a paint grenade is if there sitting on it and yes i have managed to throw one so it lands under somones butt but i have only managed it the once the force of the charge shreads the paintballs in the greande apart well before anyone gets a splat on them big enough to get them out, all they do for me is make a loud bang and add to the fun and feel of scenario games and this they do all so well as long as the go bang. :p
