just got my copy of the worlds greatest paintball mag and after reading it i thought id just bring up this one bad point about this months issue in my opinion ok;
the article is about players and what they shoot and again in my opinion a picture of a player with a gassed up painted up marker with no barrel condom and the players fingers very near to the trigger with no goggles on does not set a good example to new or any player regarding safety.especially after reading about hot guns and people losing an eyeball while wearing protection at tourneys which robbo and other members discussed on these very forums.i again in my opinion would like the editor/s take a stand and not show these kind of lapse of judgements in regards to safety and we have all done something similar or as bad i know i have( a squeegee as a barrel bung)before someone gets seriously hurt and we get screwed over by the bad press just as the good times seem to be rolling near.i mean no disrespect to the player or the pgi team its just a point that we should all stand up to and be counted as sportsmen/women and paintballers

Yeah,
We get enough bad press from everybody else, we don't need it from our own magazines, and believe me, it's not just PGI. Frankly, I wish all these paintball magazines would stop carrying ads that use the term "gun" to refer to a marker, "ammo" for paint and "kills" for eliminations, and stop giving pages of coverage to scenerio 'ballers dressed like commandos. We need to make ourselves look good to counter all the negative press we get, and we're just not doing that by showing players with no gogs, no barrel condom, and by using term like "gun" and "kill" in our own magazines.

PGI posts a disclaimer at tha front of tha magazine saying these images are for illustrative purposes only yadayadayada...basically, with the sport coming outta tha woods and players becoming more recognizable, this is gonna happen more and more across all tha magazines. Lots of ads are going tha same way - it is unavoidable.

So long as people follow tha rules laid down at whatever field they're playing it with regard to markers, goggles and bungs, people will stay safe.

And for all you know in that image, the gun was turned off, tha bottle was empty/not on, whatever.

Umm...

I use a paintgun. I shoot people with paint. We play a game in which you send peopelto what even the "Elite" players call a "Deadbox".

IMHO, paintball is going the 'wrong way' to distance itself from terms like this. Heck, American football has the "Shotgun" formation.
