It is with great pleasure I can now announce what we have been working on.
It was my belief that paintball was in a heap of the smelly stuff and something needed to be done to get the tournament scene sorted out.
I am convinced that what we are trying to do with the PA is the best way forward, and also understood that those aims was not for everyone and there must be a happy medium.
The PA was looking all mouth to be honest and I have never been one to stand on a chair and shout to the masses for someone else to do it, when getting off my own arse and doing it may work.
I/we needed to appeal to a greater audience and in doing so expose them to their potential future; the opportunity to do just that came with a telephone conversation with Jon Payne (owner of JCS Leisure) who proposed the benefits for doing a joint event.
The PA will continue to promote Xball and run that as the showcase event with the best teams in the country taking part but as a collective we can now offer the players the best value for money events offered in the UK.
I have always thought the most beneficial way forward is to do a limited number of events (so players and their teams are not cajoled into playing events that they can not afford) and that will not change.
What will change is what is offered, and this is the really good bit………
The PA along with the Super 4 Tournament Series (JCS Leisure) will be jointly offering several formats at the same site and on the same day, so if you would like to play Xball, Xball light or 5 man we will be offering them all to you, a mini PSP in fact.
We have had talks for some time and it is our intention to offer the best value for money events the players can get.
Because of the expected increase in players on site and the concerns with the planning permission with the new site we wanted to use this season all the events will now be held back at Ancaster Paintball one of the best sites in the country with facilities that put others to shame.
Air of course will only be provided by market leaders H-Pac so you can be assured of excellent service.
Full costs are to be confirmed but for the 5 man they will be £175.00 with some excellent paint offers available to everyone.
We will be offering a fantastic prize package to the winning teams and I will put up full details shortly.
I will be keeping you all informed with all further developments as they happen.
Proposed Dates (five events)
11th May
22nd June
27th July
24th August
28th September or the 5th October (will be confirmed soon)
Vendors who have confirmed there attendance include:
JCS Leisure, Phoenix Paintball and Lips who will all be offering paint and products you need and I am sure some shiny stuff you don't, but will want
One other has been invited and if they give us the nod I will let you know.
Any questions, post away.
Russ.
