What is the stance on ramping at the PA with regards to the statements made by WDP, Planet and D7's etc.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Rusell or someone from the PA has stated that their insurance provider is happy with them running ramping events, so I think that would be enough to reassure WDP and Planet with regards to liability.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but surely the stance on ramping in the PA has not changed due to the statements by WDP and Planet.

WDP and Planet made their statements because they are worried about liability due to the fact that the millennium rules do not specifically allow ramping, and there is a large amount of uncertainty as to whether or not it actually is allowed, and if somebody were to get hurt, who would be liable. WDP and Planet can now go into any actions resulting from an injury due to ramping in the Millennium with a statement on record that they advised their users not to use ramping modes in the Millennium Series. Therefore they cannot be held liable.

As for the D7s, surely they can just state that their rules either allow or disallow ramping (depending on what Dave wants to do/what Daves insurers will let him do).

Or am I oversimplifying the statements from WDP and Planet? ;)

Sorry but this just sounds a poor excuse for a disclaimer if something should happen to go nasty.

Surely if manufacturers do ramping software as standard in a marker than it should be more or less common place in the game ?!?!?!?

Sorry probably more in line with speak your brains forum but ....

The MS rules state that there is to be semi only. The gun manufacturers are not liable even if they include modes on heir guns to the contrary surely? Ferrari make cars capable of speeds three times most national speed liits, if a driver is flying along the motorway at 150mph it is not Ferrafi who would get into trouble.

If players want to use the ramping, then thats up to them, anyone holding the manufacturer liable surely wont get anywhere with such a claim?

Their not liable????

What about the people who dont use this forum or others?

All they know is that Planet/WDP/NPS/AKA/Dye etc are all for ramping, seeing as they were all too happy to add it to their software.

And the tourny's they go to, the organisers allow it!

That to me says ramping all the way.

Who's faults that???

By adding ramping software to their markers, they are not making you use it. They are simply giving you an option to use it in an environment where it is allowed. If the rules say no and you use it, then you are responsible for the resultant implications.

They arent saying that ramping is bad they are just saying that the rules are as clear as dish water.

I've not looked recently , and I cant be arsed to now , but wasn't the MS rules worded in such a way that ramping was usable? Even though it was not directly allowed , it was not disallowed either. I though that was how everyone got to use it in Germany.

[ Disclaimer - I've not been keeping up with things recently , so I could be talking bolloks. If I am , sorry ;) ]

So if it is not directly mentioned in the rules as being illegal , surely it is an environment where it can be allowed..?? So who is responsible then..?? As you've said , the rules need clearing up.

Cheers , Rob.
