Last night our site got hacked into and had it not been for my mods Gassy and his wife and Bon, we would have been in some trouble.
Bon took the site off line when the hackers were still in the process of doing their sh!t.
I'm always suspicious maybe even a little paranoid about events like this but these attributes have helped me more times than not and so I tend to rely on them.
I have an idea who's behind this, my job now is to work with a couple of people to try and follow the trail back.
Because Jon, Gassy, Mrs Gassy [Cheryl] acted so quickly, the people who did this have subsequently left certain information they would have deleted had they been able to complete the hack.
It looks pretty much like they got a hold of my password, and since that password is only used on this account, it's not clear as to how they got it.
Bon is collating information now that includes this smoking gun info and when he completes it, I will be going to the police if we then have enough for them to go on.
Bon thinks we will have but we will have to wait and see.
If any of you guys out there hear anything about this or know who was involved, could you please let me know by emailng me at robbo@aceville.com I will give anyone who helps me nail the people behind it 250 quid as a thankyou for getting in touch and helping me.
Also, if there are any tech-heads out there who know how best to deal with this sorta cr@p, I'd appreciate a message letting me know how they might be able to help.
It's not a massive amount because I ain't rolling it but it's better than getting a kick in the nuts and hopefully might help someone make the decision to let me know was behind it.
