Hello. i have a 48cu 3000psi steely gas tank that is outta date by a month.... its full of air... is it safe to use it up? or should i get it emptied and got rid of??
It'll be safe to use for use at home setting things up but won't be allowed to use on site until tested, with testing costing £25/30 plus postage if you need to send it off, might be cheaper to buy a new tank in the end
Remember to take care removing the regulator
First to protect yourself from any air still inside
(Threads are tapered on air cylinder regulators so that if there is pressure and you manage to unscrew then it is gradually released while the regulator is firmly attached)
Second to not damage threads
Also look around for anyone interested in old cylinders. Make sure they are not going to atteot to use it
There are certain circumstances when people want a dummy cylinder, e.g. For promoting a university society they can use drilled out cylinders with 'dummy' marked on the side
