Opinions on AA and Freak help

Two questions, First how do you rate the AA barrel? specificly on a cocker. I'm most interested in the bore, I shoot mostly diablo usually blaze and sometimes Zap (at least that's what they'll have at NorthVsouth).

Also which insert is recommended for the Freak for blaze paint.

Planet are selling AA's at half price so it's tempting. And with my wallet I don't want to end up paying £90 for a standard freak when the AA would do the job just as well.

please help time's a wasting.

Its hard to say which insert fits blaze as there can be differences in size from batch to batch (although it is fairly consistant) you really need to check the insert with each box of paint you use.... I would recommend a freak but then I have not used an AA.....

I was thinking more of a good general insert to get If I decided on the Freak.

My main problem is, bearing in mind I'm not going to shell for a delux kit is it really worth getting a freak? over f'instance the AA which is going really cheap on planet.

It HAS to be worth buying a Freak if you can manage the money. I've had to use at least 3 different inserts just for Blaze pain over the last few months, & I certainly couldn't have afforded 3 complete barrrels in different bore sizes! If you're intending to get just the barrel itself plus one or 2 inserts, probably the most popular one is the .689 insert (either the blue or red one, can't remember off-hand). Remember - a larger bore than the paint leads to uneconomical use of air & lack of accuracy, but a too tight bore = breaks all the way, so if in doubt go large.
You can always buy more inserts and the case later as & when you have more money available, and of course if you change gun just buy a new bavk.

Okay.. got what you're after now...

With Blaze I have used Blue insert 689, and the REd insert 687.. so they would be good for a start, these are the main 2 I have used I did use a different one for zap (can't remember which tho)

Its cheaper to buy a freak, barrel and a couple of inserts than 2 or 3 AA's
