Open mail to millennium rules board.

This mail was sent to JM of the Millennium rules board (jm@vforcepaintball.com)

Regarding:
"Electronic boards

Only plain semi-autos are allowed. Other modes and modified boards are banned. A technical committee will be created, consisting of 3 people from 3 different companies who manufacture electronic markers. At every tournament, markers picked out at random will be taken apart and tested. "

My question:
Are Angel LCD allowed under these rules?

Best regards.

John,

Don't know why JM has not got back to you.. but would suggest that you've not understood the ruling.
Of couse Angel LCDs are allowed but only in semi Auto mode. same as every other marker.

The stripping of guns is to prove if suspected guns have designed cheats within them. We will be coming down so heavily on gun cheats.

There will be a few rule amendments soon but keep checking the Millennium website at Millennium-series.com.

Angel LCD from states

Naill I use an imported angel.

It can be set for mode a (fully auto).

As long as it is in mode b - semi auto is it a valid marker?

need to get hold of Tank for an exit
Having read what Morten from the rules commitee said on another board (whoops, I admitted to cheating on p8ntballer, sorry  ) and from Niall's earlier post in this thread

I believe the interpretation which will be used is along the lines of:
============
So long as the board cannot be modified without the use of tools (eg computer, Palm, Psion, spanner?) and is set in pure semi mode, then it will be legal to use.
As the rules prohibit the taking of tools on to the field, the marker must therefore be in semi mode for the duration of the game.
============
That's just the way I read it, I may be wrong, but with the number of Angel LCD's etc out there, I can't see any other way around it.

What is more of a concern to me is the rules regarding "trigger bounce" is this going to be introduced in the Millenium Series also?

If you implement the rule as you have quoted it, it would mean that an Angel with an 'American' board can be used to, as long as it is set to fire mode B (true semi), since you would need the use of a tool (an allen key) to open the grip frame to get to the internal set buttons.

There you go ..Common sense!! Well done Buddah.

Please appreciate that the unscrupulous out there are cheating!!

Unbelieveable as it may seem, some people are modifying their markers to gain unfair advantage, whether by means of the ingenious.. board modifications, or the simple..hidden tools. What they are doing is 1/Dangerous
2/Unfair

We have instigated measures to catch the cheats and the penalties incurred will negate any value to cheating in the first place.

On field cronoing will become the norm. Every marshal will have a hand held crono and will be be expected to crono at least one marker per game during game play. One shot over 300 fps = player eliminated. This will stop the chrono cheats.

Markers which seem to be firing in any other mode than Semi Auto will be removed from the player immediately. If found to be firing more than one shot per pull that player will be expelled from the tournament and his team willhave to play one player short. Now the big crunch is..It will no longer be an acceptable excuse to say the marker has mis-funtioned, or the board has failed etc. If your marker starts tripping YOU KNOW. You can inform the marshal, and leave the field without penalty (Unless you've been ripping it up and you try at the end of the game). Also if you think your gun is hot you can do the same (This is an old rule).

Safety has got to come first.

Off my soap box now

Niall

PS THe Rules are being updated on the millennium web site so keep an eye on them.

First thing that spring to mind here is:

A player has his marker removed from him because a marshal suspects it to be "firing funny", I take it this player is also eliminated from the game.

What then happens if the suspect marker is found to be fine, and in no way what-so-ever "firing funny"??

Is the game replayed from the point where the marker was taken, or am I reading the "immediatley" bit too literally, will the marker be taken upon elimination/game-over?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for stopping the cheats, but can you imagine the balls required by a judge to take a marker off (and this is just an example - I'm in no way shape or form implying that these guys are cheats)
say, for example, a member of Shockwave, when it's the last game of the finals, who-ever wins takes the tourney, when they are on the verge of winning, but once the marker is taken, Dynasty go on to win the game, and the tourney?

There you go ..Common sense!! Well done Buddah.
Just coz he said what I meant but in plain English! Damn these Europeans and their superior grasp of our language!
:D :D

I've lost my English skills completely due to excess Java programming - half of my second semester is in Java! :( I'll never speak English again........ ;) :p

The marshal hears a gun "tripping" , goes to the offending marker, takes it off the player, calling him neutral, fires it, if it is anything other than semi auto...Bye Bye. If its ok then straight back in game.

And to your point about teams being robbed by a marshal making a bad call, Believe me teams are being robbed by cheating b**tards who have to be caught.
