If you don't know what Onlive is then look below

If you still don't have a clue then...

All you have at home is a small box and a controller hooked up to your internet. All the hardware and processing power is stored at a huge building (data center). If you buy a game it's instant (no download or going shop to buy it), there is no media (dvd, cd,so,on..), No hardware to hack,You never need to upgrade the console (they upgrade the data center), You can play it on any pc, mac, so on... with internet access.

If i'm honest, this looks like a load of rubbish. You have to pay for a subscription every month and on top of that you have to buy the games. Moreover, after a while the games 'expire' and you loose the ability to play the game, without paying again. Yes i agree that they are trying to keep up with modern technological advances, but in all seriousness nobody wants to buy something where you have to keep on paying to play a game. Even though you have paid the full amount of money for it in the first place.

Take Xbox 360 for example: You pay £39.99 a month for live but you don't have to pay for it if you don't want it. But for onlive, you have to pay it no matter what you are using it for. Moreover, you pay say £39.99 for an xbox game (e.g. COD) you can own that game for however long you want to. Also, you able to play it whenever you like without the need to pay extra to play it even though you have had it for a long time, which is what 'Onlive' deems appropriate to do.
