So yes, how amazing am I? My marker and I appear to get on like a house on fire.

The next task I have to over come is this:

It would appear the feedneck thread or the thread in the gaping whole in the top of my dm4 where the feedneck used to be is stripped (I'm not sure which one, if not both). The neck just spins round in the top of my gun if I try to screw it in. This is great for comedy value, but not so good when it comes to trying to attach a hopper.

How the hell am I going to fix this if it's not the feedneck that's stripped but the thread in the actual marker? And how do I manage to get on with every marker apart from my own?

I'd give Dye a call first before you do anything to see if it's a common problem of they've got any fixes for it. They are lovely people and will have a chat to you to sort you out and not try and go 'nah sorry, you'll have to give us money before we talk to you'.

Sounds a strange thing to happen though cos the feedneck never really moves. Is it the standard one? The top of mine spins around but that's normal as it's the bit that grips the hopper and stops moving once tightened around a hopper feedneck.

Take a leaf from my book Dave: "The relationship between Smally and his marker"

1) turn on
2) hope it works
3) chrono
4) if there is a problem change the battery
5) return to 2
6) if this didn't work give to a teamate who knows how to fix things.
7) play paintball

The moral of the story is that I don't touch my gun, I play with it, I clean the outside and lube the inside when I remember and thats it... and guess what? Nothing goes wrong! :D

I do feel sorry for you tho mate :) Seems like every day I see a new thread of yours with gat troubles :p Ever thought of taking up... knitting? :D

Hi Dave

Is the feed neck a stock one or after-market?

Some times players fit no-rise necks to there DM4's and there are not enough threads on the neck to take the beating that we give our guns during a days play.

it is more likely that the threads on the neck are gone. If so. cleaning up the threads on the gun and a new feed neck (LOW -RISE) not no-rise should solve the problem.

If the threads on the gun are knackered it becomes slightly more difficult. DYE do have "oversized" feednecks but it would be best to send the gun in to have it fitted.

The Twist feednecks, a la DMC, are £26.12 from DYE but they haven't got a price for the new "Knob Clamping Feedneck", a la DM6, as yet.

It is s good idea to ascertain which part is damaged. If it the feedneck then you can replace with whatever feedneck you desire as long as it is a LOW-Rise or higher.

If the threads have been stripped off the f/neck they will be "stuck" in the gun threading. It will appear that the gun threading is stripped because it will look smoothish due to the metal fromthe feedneck still being in the gun threads.

Try and clean that out with a pick or similar.
