Details:
Info Pack:
The info pack contains all the information that you could possibly need for the trip. It will also contain a personalised DVD.
The team:
It has been suggested that for the 2008 trip a new team be created called the UK Scenario Team. As opposed to travelling as a dispirit group of teams and individuals, the benefits of going as part of cohesive team are obvious. The team will have it's own logos, website, playing uniform, off field uniform etc and to all intents and purposes will represent the UK whilst attending the event.
There is also a commercial demand from potential trip supports for structuring the trip as the UK Scenario Team - more about this later.
Anyone who feels uncomfortable about this team arrangement should PM Timboy or Jetmonkey.
Website:
The dedicated DDay website will be live within the next week. It will provide the professional face of the trip and contain images, player profiles, video etc. The WOZ forum will continue to be the hub of all information for attendees. The forum will remain 'open' until the initial booking period has expired, at which point it will then be locked so that attendees only will be able to post.
Bonus event:
Included in the overall price for DDay 2008 is a bonus event. This event will give everyone who is attending the chance to meet up before leaving for the USA. Not only will all attendees be able to meet socially (over a few beers no doubt!) but will also be able to play as a team.
The event will be held in Wales during February 2008. The event will be the UK Scenario Team versus Everyone else and will be advertised nationally. The event will be held on our 42 acre paintball site (www.aberpaintball.com) and air will be provided. All DDay attendees will arrive on Saturday. Evening carvery meal will be provided (www.thecarvery.net - ) and hotel accommodation. The following morning breakfast (also included) will be served at the same restaurant for attendees before the game itself. Basically all DDay attendees need to do is arrange for their own transportation to and from Wales - everything else is included.
The event will be marketed nationally for non-DDay players who will make up the opposition for the day. These people are also welcome to join the evening meal, breakfast etc but obviously there will be a (discounted) charge for this. It will be an opportunity for these players to 'take on' the UK Scenario Team on the field, and also to enjoy a good night of socialising before hand. More details of this event will be forthcoming over the next couple of weeks.
Flights:
Our outward flight will arrive in Tulsa on Sunday 8th June 2008. We will be departing Tulsa for the return on Monday 16th June. Further details (including exact flight times, numbers etc will be posted at the end of the booking period i.e. two weeks).
Leaving a day before the main group will be a 2 man advanced party of Craig and A.N. Other. These two will hire a Dodge Ram giant pick-up and will purchase initial supplies for all the accommodation units. This means that when the rest of us arrive, not only will there already be beers in the fridge, our accommodation units will already be stocked with enough supplies for the first couple of days. We can then use the hire car to purchase more supplies when we need to.
Transfers:
Transfers have been arranged that will collect the group and luggage at Tulsa Airport and will transport to the Dday site where our accommodation units will already be waiting for us. The units will have already been delivered, set-up, tested and a beer will be in the fridge.
The return transfer will collect us from the site at mid day on Sunday and take us to the 4 star Double Tree Inn in Tulsa. The hotel offers a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna’s etc and is the perfect place to clean up after a week in the bush!
Accommodation units:
The accommodation units are 8 man static trailers. However, we will have a maximum of 6 people per unit to ensure comfort for all. The units have TV’s, showers, kitchens, air con and will be connected to water and power hook-ups. The units will be delivered to the site before our arrival. They will be set-up and tested before we arrive and will be collected on our behalf after we leave. Pics to follow.
Dday event ticket:
The event runs from Monday 9th June to Sunday 15th June. There are paintball games run on every day prior to the big game on the Saturday. There are also a myriad of courses and other activities that are offered throughout the week. All of these activities are included in the cost of the event ticket.
Free hire car:
For the 2008 trip we have included the free use of a hire car during the week. This will allow anyone on the trip to make journeys to the local town for supplies, to use pay phones etc etc. We ask that anyone using the car contribute towards fuel costs.
General info:
There will be companies supporting the UK Scenario Team during this event. Further details will be released in due course.
There will be loan air bottles made available for team members for use throughout the weeks events. Again, details to follow.
This years trip is slightly more expensive than 2007, most of this increase is accounted for by reducing the number of people per accommodation unit (with the associated cost per head raising, increased hook-up cost etc). The event ticket has also risen in price and we are also including a hire car for the week. When the bonus event with two meals, accommodation and game ticket are taken into account – the trip still represents outstanding value for money (maybe even more so than 2007).
Booking:
40% of the RV spots have already been booked for 2008. Within 4 weeks the remainder will be gone. This is why we are offering only a 10 day booking window – we need to get everyone signed up quickly so that we can book the RV spots. People wishing to come on the trip who have not booked within the next 10 days will not be guaranteed a place.
10 tickets per person for the trip will need to be purchased from www.corporate-killers.com . The first ticket is available now and will be available for 2 weeks only. The initial ticket is £200 (plus 20p credit card charge). Thereafter, each month additional tickets will be available from the Corporate-Killers website at £100 each until the trip has been paid for in full with a final payment of £75.
Ten days from now we will know how many people are attending the trip as each person should have bought a ticket from Corporate-Killers.
So…..if you want to attend the worlds largest paintball event and play as part of the UK team – scoot over to www.corporate-killers.com and buy your first ticket.
Any questions please feel free to contact either Timboy or Jetmonkey.
