you have to press in the metal ring around the hosing then pull it out. When you cut it make sure its a level, neat cut, otherwise it might not seal properly.

where the connector and hose meet there is a collar, pull the collar toward the connector then pull the hose in the opposite direction

Easiest way ive found is to get a adjustable spanner reduce it down i size so it just fits arround the hose and use this to press the collar of the fitting in whilst at the same time pulling the hose some time its more difficult if the hose is very short but looking at your pic the hose should com out pretty easily dont forget to fit more new hose use the hose that you take out as a template for cutting the correct length of new hose.

just one small point, the hose on your gun pictured above, doesnt need cutting down, much shorter, and you will struggle to get it to fit. or is there another reason for you wanting to cut it down?

All of the above, but i wouldn't recommend pushing the macroline in before pressing the collar, i've seen a few fittings jam this way.

You need a bit of play in the macroline, and keep the bends as large and smooth as possible, and the macroline should go into the fitting in a straight line, not angled.

If the macroline goes in at an angle, it will burr up inside, and you'll have trouble removing it, and it may leak.
