Got a budget? This will help us help you.

The only thing I can say right now is that you'll definately want one of the best masks you can get. I don't know much about masks, but £60-£80 brand new is normal for the good ones.

Hi mate am new to the sport my self an just been to cpps for the first time, I wouldn't even worry about the clothing side of things just yet, I would worry about the mask is a big one, I was lookin at the I4s which look the business but was to small and didn't cover my face so didnt fancy to many in the head lol, I bought a v-force grillz which is perfect for me but each for the own I guess, a good hopper either a reloader B2 or a halo an u will get one from this forum or eBay for a fraction of the price, an I would get a good air bottle, a carbon one not a steel one it's lighter plus if u got a steel it wouldn't be long till u wanted a carbon one, just keep lookin an take your time, I got some great deals from people here an they r more than happy to help any which way they can

Being ex-mil, you'll find paintball quieter but more expensive.
A rough guide to second-hand prices for equipment as seen on this forum:-

Lower end markers £70 - £100.
Air bottle @ £35
Loader £30 - £70
Goggles £30 - £50

That'll get you into play; some sites provide for both walk-on and rental, and may allow
you to borrow overralls, podpacks, pods until you can buy your own.

At home, practice holding your marker both right- and left handed; being ambidextrous will
keep your game going, flowing and make you more useful to your team.

At the site, talk to people. Explain it's your first/early paintball, that you're looking to learn
tactics. Perhaps paintball is similar to mil in the communication on the field that improves the game...

Search the internet for info on gear & tactics, too.

Above all, don't take it too seriously (we're not Taleban) and enjoy yourself
