A friend recently took his 1.1 full wrap hse bottle to a cylinder testing facility in the south (southerners figure it out, they're in fareham). My friend requested a test on his 3 year old full wrap and was told that under new european legislation that this was now extended to 5 years. When questioned further the tester produced documentation to confirm the above. i'd like to add he didn't get a copy of this documentation as it would cost £30
. 6 Months previously i had taken a similar cylinder to the same testing station and had been given the same story, however i didn't see any documentation and just assumed he was confused or summit. The cylinder testing facility is well established and has a very good reputation amongst dive shops etc. So why are we still being told that the 3 year test still exists for these cylinders? is the shop wrong? an answer from the UKPSF and HPAC would be greatly appreciated.
