Well the thing that struck me as strange was that the guy couldn't test it as it has a pi mark on it meaning it complies to american specs which he said are lower than UK specs but he couldn't test it to the higher UK specs ? Surely if UK specs are higher then he should be able to test it past the US spec ?
Either way I'll send them an email with pics or give them a call and tell them all the markings on it, will grab it from the car and take some pics in a bit to put p on here though
The Pi mark is the UK specification, US spec is DOT marked
Sometimes people get confused by 'manufactured in the USA'
If not Pi marked then it cannot be filled or tested in the UK as it is not approved for the UK
HPAC are the primary testers in the UK and they provide fill stations at many events
You can save a fair bit by dropping a cylinder with them and collecting at a later event
On the basis of a spare an aluminium cylinder is a good buy
Money wise aluminium 3000psi cylinders always work out cheaper then fibre 4500 cylinders
Fibre cylinders have the advantage on weight, a little more capacity on average sizes when at 3000psi, and much more capacity when 4500psi is available
