Offset drop forward

I was reading a thread the other day about keeping as small a profile as possible on your gun side. Trying to get your arm over the gas bottle is awkward and uncomfortable, some people have said, don't use a drop forward so that you can get your wrist in line with the reg. This helps to keep your arm in close but moves the gun too far forward.

I made my own drop forward for my angel and 1.4 air, so i thought, if the bottle is getting in the way, move it over to the left.

So i made a simple plate to shift it forward and left, and now the gun is as far right as the bottle, and allthough it feels a bit lopsided, once you get the gun into your shoulder you don't notice it, and yes your arm is well in.

Or has anyone used the air remote, remember that.

One of the lads from the Northern Outkasts made one of these to move the bottle off to the left a bit. Feels really good when shooting right handed, you can pull you arm in and reduce your profile quite a bit. Only problem is when you shoot left handed it obviously has the opposite effect and you show more than normal :) swings and roundabouts really....

Did you see the one in this months PGI though, it kind of allows you to swing your bottle from left to right depending on which hand your shooting in :) looks a really cool idea.

Good point nick :)

The picture in PGI is taken from more or less a front view so its hard to make out how it is actually connecting up to be honest :(

I've just picked up this months pgi, it looks good, the gas line is separate from the fitting and will move when the bottle is turned.

But i would have a longer line than the one showed to reduce stress on the fittings.

One fault i can see is it looks a bit flimsy, there is a fair amount of bottle hanging off this thing, and how many times have you slipped down a bank, and looked stupid. You would look daft with a bottle hanging off your gas line.

It depends how tight the hinge is really. You would have to get a decent balance between being able to move it with with your arm/elbow without it 'swinging' all over the place while running.

Good concept though. You could use SFD hosing like lps sell which is flexible unlike macro line so you have freedom of movement available :)
