O/T Tony blair wins on top up fees

I know this is off topic, but given the number of us student scum on these forums, this is quite important.

Tony blair has managed to get the new 'top up fees' scheme for university through by a majority of 5!!!

although winning by such a small amount means that he'll have to make changes to the policy, but what it does mean is that those in the lower 6th form at the moment (of which i am one) will be the last year not to pay these fees, if we don't take a gap year.

The only problem is that every man and his dog thinking about going to uni will apply that year

actually it doesn't start till 2006 in september from my understanding, so you can still take your gap year if your in lower 6th. Year 11 however....
