It's my 1 time a year totally off topic post, but it's in SYB, and it's on my brain.

I'll say the obvious joke. "Wow! That had to be an EASY truck for the police to find!" Enjoy.

Stolen Truck Leaves Long Doughnut Trail

March 29, 2002 7:07 am EST

SLIDELL, La. (Reuters) - Two people left a 15-mile-long trail of doughnuts after they took a Krispy Kreme truck from a parking lot and fled, police said on Thursday.

The truck was parked at a convenience store with its rear doors open and engine running while a deliveryman carried doughnuts inside, said Slidell police spokesman Rob Callahan.

Two suspects hopped in the truck and sped off to the nearby town of Lacombe, with doughnuts spilling out along the way, he said.

They abandoned the truck when they were spotted by police responding to reports of a dangerous driver who was losing his doughnuts. Passenger Rose Houk, 31, was captured, but the driver, whose name was not released, ran away.

Houk told police they had been smoking crack cocaine for several hours before the incident, which occurred Wednesday, said Callahan.

Their motive for taking the Krispy Kreme truck was unclear.

"I don't know if it was a need for transportation of if they just had the munchies," he said.

In the Evil Parallel Universe you are not only guilty until proven innocent, but only Dr. Doolittle can face his accuser. This is a combined Evil Parallel Universe and “zero tolerance” bonehead award.

A fifteen year-old boy at St. Matthews Catholic high school in Ottawa, Canada, has been suspended because a drug dog barked at his coat. Now it could be that his coat was hung up next to someone who smoked marijuana, or it could be that he was in a car where occupants once smoked marijuana, or it could be that he sat down on a bus next to someone who smoked marijuana, or it could be the dog is wrong. But the most important point is that it could be that he has never had anything to do with drugs, but, this, unfortunately seems irrelevant. He was suspended anyway. He now has a record of being suspended. He says he doesn’t do drugs. Who you going to trust? Him or a dog?

And what say the police about this?

Const. Paul Caissie, of Toronto Police Dog Services, said, "… you don't just base it totally on just the dog. You have to have other indicators present."

Unless, of course, you’re one of these “zero tolerance means I don’t have to think or care about ruining a life because the rule says that I don’t have to apply common sense” school administrators.

The Toronto District School Board stands firm, as does the school principal. It doesn’t really matter whether you do drugs, just whether your coat has a scent that only a dog can detect [the principal, nor anyone else, could detect any smell].

The real crime is the guy leaving the engine running while he's unloading! Didn't he ever hear of the environment?
Buddha if it was a diesel they actually for short stops use less gas being left on then truned of and restarted .

Eric yeah that was pretty bad that the kid got kicked out of school for having a jacket that smelled of pot . Pot really should be legalized . (although for the record i'd trust the dog over the kid . )

Yeah I would trust the dog too, but not to that point. What if one of his parents smoke pot? Or if he walked past some people smoking it? Or what if he had something the dog liked for breakfast and the dog barked at that?
Those people are crazy to suspend him because the dog barked, they didn't find any evidence, the dog just barked at it.
