NXL: Fact or Fiction?

Yesterday and today I have been on more than a dozen different PB sites trying to find NXL scores. Guess what, no scores. Does anybody even mention the matches being played? Nothing more than "oh, yeah, the NXL continued season play." That was the most info available!

Is this really supposed to be the premier PB league delivering the game to the world?! Looks more like a covert CIA operation in Guatamala to me.

I did eventually discover that if you happened to know each teams season record to date the NXL site finally changed the season records last night. No individual match scores. Just adjusted season win/loss records. Wow! How informative. How entertaining. The Trilateral Commission gets more PR than the NXL.

As to the other PB sites--who really cares about a bunch of novice and rookie 5-man teams? Seriously. I'm sure the participants will be excited to read some dull as dishwater copy about their exploits but who else give's a rat's rearend?

Nor were those results updated when I hit the rack last night after 1 in the AM. But good for you, Steve-O. The only other way to find those results, when they get posted, is to go to Standings page of the NXL site and bottom right of Standings page is 2004 Results link which in turn is the page of Chicago results--finally. It's like customer service at the phone company.

On the plus side, Porky von Clausewitz added yesterday's NXL scores to their running commentary around lunchtime today. Way to go, Porky.

Would have kinda thought that the NXL, with all it's promised TV deals, etc, would have at least been trying to drum up some kind of interest in the league...

NPPL/Pure Promotions seriously need to get in on this X-ball style format in some way, shape, or form.... I mean, you had photos, scores updates, industry gossip, live webcams, live webradio commentary, everything, at Tampa. Is it *that* hard to do?

I just seem to get the overall impression that the NPPL events pull out all the stops and then some, but the PSP just do what they need to to get an event running... and rely on the exclusivity of the NXL to carry them through... is this right?

They're just following the crowd...I just got back from Chicago and it seemed to me that the NXL was just a diversion while waiting for the D1 games on the field next door.

Kinda sad, really.

Just got back from Chicago myself and that's how it felt to me too.
