NXL - EXL Question

My understanding was that the World Cup would be restricted to the top four EXL teams playing a World Championships against the top four NXL teams.

Is this still the case (if it ever was)?

What will the remainder of the NXL and EXL teams do? The obvious answer for the EXL is that they play Division 1, but will NXL teams play Division 1 or will there be a 'Consolation' mini-tournament for the less-best-of-the-best?

My question boils down to this: Team A is ranked 6th in the NXL. What is the team doing at the World Cup?

Or playing, as the rules mysteriously change at tha last minute to lock tha Euros out or turn into a 12-team finale...

I find it more likely that it expands to include all the teams, or else a 'Consolation Event' is held.

I figure the league folds to player pressure rather than face a potential deluge of players exiting the league in protest of being blocked out of the Cup.

I'm with TJ, who's usually a smart cookie when he isn't shooting up his bong water for that extra high. My bet is all NXL will play, with the 4 EXL added in getting a bye in the first round or something.
