Interesting stuff..Kudos to NPPL for reaching out to the little guys..

NPPL invites teams to submit their profiles

To enable Paintball to reach a wider audience it is important that we can present more detailed information about not only the structure and strategy of the game but to also about the people that make it what it is.
For future tournament programmes and for use by this website and other media - we believe it is critical that we enable the spectators to associate with you - THE PLAYERS.

What we would like to do is be able to feature teams from all divisions and highlight key players and the different personalities within those teams.

It would be good if all teams that playwed at Huntington Beach and those that intend to play in future NPPL Super 7 World Series events could supply us with certain key information, pictures and any other interesting items that we could use.

Ideally we would like all information via the internet (inc pictures) but if that proves difficult you can mail info about your team to the address below.

As a guide we could use the info that falls into these categories:-

TEAM NAME & LOCATION
ROSTER WITH POSITION AND EXPERIENCE AND JOBS OUTSIDE PAINTBALL
PREVIOUS EVENTS PLAYED AND YOUR RESULTS
EQUIPMENT USED
SPONSORS NAMES
BEST EVENT AND MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT
FAVORITE OTHER PLAYER
WHAT'S HOT + WHAT'S NOT
PLUS ANYTHING YOU THINK MIGHT MAKE US LAUGH OR PUKE

Either mail the info to us at the address below, marked 'Team Profiles' or preferably email us the information to:-

profiles@nppl.tv

PLEASE SAVE IMAGES AS JPG AND NO LARGER THAN 600 X 600 PIXELS.

Not new, 6 (been on the site since before HB, I think)
and not gonna work but does indicate NPPL and PP are looking ahead and trying to cover all their bases. Which is a good thing.

*Blatant plug*--look for a 'View from the Deadbox' on this very subject [How does PB connect with the great unwashed?] in an upcoming PGI. :)
PS--Duff, Ant--you ain't seen it yet but I have written it.

But why couldnt it work??Obviously we have our stars of the sport, but what good are they if nobody knows who they are??Heres an opportunity for them(little and big players) to be shown in a positive light and be thrust into the public eye and NPPL gets some free marketing and promotional needs in the process..

Will it not work because people are just too lazy to take the time and send the stuff in??Personally,I cant comprehend how anyone would pass up the opportunity for free promotion of team and players..Paintball offers a ton of vibrant personalities that could easily be marketed to the outside and I see this as a positive step foward..The only way i see it not working is if the cooperation from players is non-existent(which could happen)..

Maybe im missing the point here..I usually do:D ..So enlighten me..

Not gonna answer your question--just yet. :D
No question there is a big opportunity to personalize the game with personalities, but--
even if most participating teams follow thru and send in their info tell me how it plays out using the current NPPL model.

So I take it you havent sent your info out yet

Ok, fine..A-Hole;)...Under the current 100 team circus,ya cant personalize every person or team...And I understand that having 5 different events spaced out across the country makes it difficult for anyone to feel personally connected with the sport..But wouldnt it be cool to go to Vegas and see your face, on say a program with all your stats and info and all those other juicy tidbits that make you known to the public..Or even a write up on your team, where ya come from, how long you've been playing,etc,etc...Maybe even just write ups of the local teams playing the event..Its these little things that will make outside spectators feel more in touch with the game...Give the kids someone or a team to look up to and the next time your in town,Ill bet ya those kids will be back..Thats the goal if your going to keep the existing model the way it is,right??Finding a way for them to keep coming back..Well,it seems to me that this is a good way,if only a small piece of the equation..And also when promoting to outside sponsors, its nice that they can showcase the teams in a positive light..It could lead to team endorsments from the outside..Maybe im dreaming again but I think NPPL is on to something here and I hope it doesnt just float away because teams are uncooperative..

By the way,can you give me any info on where I can get some Viagra or should I just PM you:p :p :p :p

The Tuscon Toros coud be the future Dynasty,Shock,or Trauma..Who knows..Doesnt hurt to invest a little into the teams that keep these circus like events alive and kicking...But fair enough..Ill wait..Not sure if my scrip starts after that issue so ill probably have to drop money on 2...Bull$hit I say..

Indeed they could but--
Doesn't everybody love those ten minute puff pieces during the Olympics on the cross country skier that ends up coming in fifth?
Part of the trick is to integrate the human stories with the competition and you still haven't told me why anyone would or should care about the Nov team when there's three dozen Am and Pro teams competing too.
