Can anyone answer why there are 4 teams tied in the Semi Pro rankings on the NPPL site, even though they only 2 of them got the same score in the quarters.

Dynamics 206
Infamy 205
Diesal 205
United 208

Just a wondering how it was worked out...

If it works as it used to--and I haven't checked the rules--a team gets x-number of seed points for making the cut. For the teams that don't make the semis they receive an additional point for each x number of points scored in the quarterfinals. I think it used to be base 25 + 1 pt. per 25 scored. Result is the teams you listed each played the quarters (25) and each scored over 200 but less than 225, so 8 more points towards their ranking gives the 33 each have on the board after HB.

I think he means it makes sense in terms of the resultmatches the rule and the math.

I don't think he's implying that the rule is a good one. Cause it ain't.

That's how it works Baca, only reason I remember is in Miami we were crunching numbers at the break before finals to see what our chances were of getting that 3rd pro spot.

The formula is 24 points for making it to quarters + 1 point for every 25 points scored. If you score 1 point over a 25 point boundary, you receive a point (which I always thought was kind of weird). So for example those teams scored 24 for making it to quarters plus 8 points for scoring 200 points and another point for scoring over 200 but less than 226.

I'm not sure how else the rankings could work since the points are so close in quarters and there are different brackets. The whole quarter finals schedule is a mess in D3-SP and needs to go.
