Hi, I'm a novice looking to get a more active Painballing existence and am after a bit of advice. I'm looking to start playing more regularly (IE more than 3 times a year at organised rec-ball sites) and was hoping that someone could give me a pointer on what kit I'll need to get.

I've already acquired a set of JT Flex-7 goggles so the face protection is covered. What I was after was what other kit would I need (marker, hopper etc...) so I don't have to break my bank hiring it each time I go. Also what kit would be recommended for a novice to start with? Tippman/Spyder etc...

Thanks in advance.

I started out with an inferno base rec, Their good for a beginer because they hardly need any maintanance, and are practicly indestructable. Another good thing about these markers is that they have quite afew upgrades avaliable for them for when you get a little extra cash.
I supose either that, or a spyder would be the budget option. if you've got a little extra cash to spend i would recomend getting an impulse, theyre great! and have alot of upgrades avaliable for them should you get some more money.

Hopper wise, again, if youve got the money go for something like a ViewLoader, Off the top of my head they fire at 8bps (that right?)

Air system, just go for a 20oz bottle, but make sure you get it fitted with anti-syphon (stops liqued CO2 entering the gun), on/off valve can be quite handy too, makes it all abit simpler.

Keep an eye on the 'Classifields' section of this site too, alot of great second hand gear goes at great prices over there.

Inferno's for sale :)

Great site for gear :)

Hope this helps

I would get yourself a second hand 12v revy, you can pick one up for about £30/£35, and they can feed at about 11bps quite happily, which is enough for most markers :)

Definately a co2 with on/off and anti siphon as mentioned below, again £20/£30 on the classifieds :)

As for a marker, don't buy something really entry level like an inferno if you feel you are going to get into it, because you'll just end up selling it a few weeks after you buy it when you feel it isn't doing the job for you.

If you have the cash go for something like a nice rhf cocker, or impy :)

go with the spyder!

i say get your self a spyder victor cos you can get loads of upgrades and stuff, and they're great starter markers(i have one and i love it). As far as a hopper goes i agree - get a 12V revvy, i think sjt19 is selling two so ask him!:D

yep id say that was fairly sound advise, a cocker or an impy can be almost infinatly upgraded to take it to what ever level you like, also there are a lot of 2nd hand bargains to be had
