Well you just said it go to Geocities.com a lot of sites use it and you get a few no make that loads of annoying popup ads and some say come get a site free at geocities so find one a follow the links
Failing that your ISP should be offering you webspace as part of your connection deal if it isn't change ISP's
If you wanna get webspace and don't mind paying a bit I can point you in the right direction for that too but you did say you wanted free
