Couple of things I thought I'd get some opinions on.

I'm currently shooting a 300psi Piranha on Co2, and was wondering what the advantages would be of switching to air. I know it seems like an obvious question, but would I get noticeably improved accuracy, even with my reg?

The second thing is about my stock barrel. At the moment, I don't notice much accuracy difference between my LP gun with stock barrel, and my friend's HP Spyder, with a Boomstick. Obviously, my reg has something to do with that, and I've read reviews about my gun saying it is pretty accurate, but could this be down to the paint we've shot so far (Blaze/Euroflite/super cheap field paint) - ie, would I notice we notice a difference using tourney paint for example?

Cheers for thoughts :)

hey,

probably the only differences you will notice from switchin to air is, it will be more consistant over the chrono and it is generaly lighter then CO2. As for it making your gun anymore accurate, the only way this will happen is because of the more consistant shots, there will be less drop off etc when shooting.

As for the barrel, id recomend you get a barrel kit which you can change the bore, such as a freak. this is because the sizes of balls vary and it is essential to get a good paint/barrel match for the best accuracy.

You should find quite a big difference in the quality of paint you use, with cheap paint it tends to go out of shape and get dimples etc, whereas a high end paint will be more consistant in shape etc which means your shots will be more accurate as the paint/barrel match will stay the same :) also if the paint isnt stored correctly it normally goes crap :)

Hope that helps

The air will perform more consistently regarding the weather (temperature doesn't affect air as much as co2). And if you buy a decent air system now, you can keep it for years...... no matter what marker you switch to, so worth it in the long run.
Rich's advice is spot on........ spending an extra 50p per 100 on your paintballs will do more for your accuracy than £300 spent on the marker.
I use freak's on all my markers and the improvement is easy to see when you have a good match, but even with a full freak on a top end marker crappy paint won't go where you want it.
So my advice is...... find the best paint you can, if you only play at one place and can't get good paint, then you'll be throwing your money away.... no amount of upgrades can make dodgy paint fly straight. A lot of new players spend money on kit that they get no benifit from.
But, if you travel about or can bring your own paint to your local, then a multi-bore barrel will sort you. (the advantage of the freak is that you can use it on any marker by switching the back, so if you trade up your marker, you haven't wasted money).
