Hi All,

Just a quick one to say hi to everyone and introduce myself.

I used to play often when i was in South Africa. I last played about 2 years ago and would like to get back into the sport.

I have one of these (link below) which ill be using as I start but I'll upgrade to something that has a bit more support here.

Need to get a hpa tank for it.

Where can I go to meet some players and just get some friendly shooting in near the woking/surrey area.

Also, are there any decent shops near Woking that I can go touch and feel some guns, mask and other goodies.

Welcome mate, unfortunately I am not from woking/surrey area but im sure you will be able to meet some new people on this forum. So I am also unable to answer your next question but there arent any paintball shops around my area so I have a problem also trying things before I buy, what I would say is to ask people on these forums about pros and cons about different gear or ask people at your local site to have a look at their gear, try on their mask or even have a few shots with their gun, im sure they would be happy to help.

Campaign paintball is less than 20 minutes from you , they run monthly walkons on the 2nd sunday of every month get yourself down there they will be able to rent you any bits you will need and the players will be the best shop for browsing go down have a look at there kit and find out whats popular and good on the market . there are no local shops to you the nearest is lips paintball over an hours drive away.

Thanks guys,

I have never been to a walkon here before, can someone just give a brief on how they work ?
Can i bring paint or do i need to buy their paint and I'm guessing there's some entry fee involved ?

I'll have to open the box again and see the condition of all my equipment, been sitting for a while.

Are there any other cons to getting a steelie tank for my gun besides the obvious weight difference ?

a walkon is basically ballers with there own kit playing other ballers with there own kit. depending on your local site the prices normally around £50 this is normally entry and a box of paint your local site should have the details on there website. some sites allow you to bring your own paint as well. a steelie will be fine for the time being but in the long run you would benfit from a larger lighter tank ( more shots and your marker will be lighter.

Thanks again,
I'll get myself a steelie for now, then get a new marker later with a fiber tank.
If anything it will help build all that needed arm strength :)

I took a look on the website for campaign and it gave me most the details that I need.

I know this might be nit picking but, has anyone got recommendation on what paint to buy, i don't want to spend too much as i start up again but i also don't want something that going to have warped balls in the packs.
If these questions are better discussed else where just let me know and I'll post a new thread.

campaign is site paint only meaning if your going to their walkon you have to purchase paint there where you've have a choice of grades ranging from £25 and up per box of 2000 . personally I never buy paint online as the postman likes to jump up and down on my paint. I like to use GI sport 3star paint that I buy from LIPS

Great, Thanks again, you have been a great help so far.

I have heard of people saying no to buy paint online.
But i guess if there are no shops close buy we are sometimes forced to :)
