you know how occasionaly nothing seems to atach that troublesome part to your marker? it's always such a pain in the arse to attach it, and welding aluminium costs so much money.

i found out yesterday, while reattaching my impy feed tube, that araldite 2015 has just been approved for use in the construction of military vessels made out of aluminium, to replace welding.

also this stuff has a solvent for it so that it can be undone!!

my feed tube took about 20 mins to dry and i think the metal around it will break sooner than the glue if i try to pull ir out.

grade A stuff!!

just as a general anouncement!

Yeah,
Sounds like that could be very useful product, where can you get it? Do you have to order it, or is it available in every corner hardware store? Is it available in the US? ANSWER ME

www.Google.com

Type araldite 2015, (or copy and paste it for the lazy) and get...(drum roll)

Searched the web for araldite 2015 . Results 1 - 10 of about 94. Search took 0.16 seconds

damn useful thing this internet:rolleyes:

Though interestingly this site http://www.mfcomposites.com/20002.htm has a comparison table listing it's uses vs other grades.

i just bought it from my local hardware store, in the UK. it will bond most things, but there are some reports that it conducts electricity, so don't use it on boards or solenoids.

it is best used on metals, and is designed specifically designed for aluminium.

not the old impulses

my old impulse had to be glued because a design fault in the body meant thet the feed tube was loose.
i used loctite 330. did the job.
the new impulses are probably threaded tho? dunno are they?

could be cos mine is a freak factory but it is definatly threaded!
as for the age of the marker im not actually sure how old the body is...sure paul could shed some light?
the only thing on it looking like a serial number is number 99! underside of the body at the front, dunno if that is the impy number or the freak factory number or what

well, as i understand it older impys had push in feed tubes and therefore needed to be glued in and newer impys have a threaded feed tube, so it doesnt fall off as easily!!
