I've got a Nitro Duck (68cu 3000psi) but just recently when it get's filled to 3000psi, I can leave it for ten minutes and when I come back the pressure gauge has dropped to 2000 - 2200psi or around that value. but it never drops below that. The bottle can then stand still and the pressure will not drop again. This happens on every fill.

There's no signs of a leak (ie hissing) can anybody give me any pointers

When an air tank is filled the air heats up and expand, so after it has cooled down it inevitably does lead to a drop in your tanks pressure (as it shrinks). Are you filling an empty tank? If so the pressure drop will be more marked than filling a partially filled tank (less fill means less heat means less expansion means less pressure drop afterwards). Try filling it again after the pressure has settled. If it still drops down to the same level after that there must be a leak somewhere.

Hope this helps.

If you fill it slowly it won't drop as much cos it won't heat up as much as on a fast fill. If you're filling from a dive tank then don't let your bottle run too low before you fill it back up. You'll be able to fill it a few more times than you would if you filled it from empty/low pressure.

I never really let the tank run out completly, the last two fills that it happened on we're at Uttoxetter with Warped's big red machine and it happend on that, I must have had between 500-1000psi still on the gauge when I filled it. I will try to let the pressure settle and then fill it up again.

I never noticed this with my AGD Flatline 1.9 3000psi but I now have an Angel Air 1.1, it hits 4500 from the warped fills then it drops right down to about 3500 a few mins later, if you watch the display you can actually see the psi dropping quite rapidly...
