team Kelly's would like to thank yourself for all your love and support you gave us in Portugal, sorry we did not meet up with your expectations but we were beaten fair and square by the eventual group winners who knocked us out of the semi's. We are a team who feel we are playing at the right international level not the level of some local u.k tornament for the time the new team has been together. When we are ready to take on dynasty for the title we will let you know.

Good luck to all the british e'h! So glad to see your such the patriot.

Sorry You've got a problem with me.

I spoke to Charlie Reed and we laughed about your predicament. Yeah I think you are playing below your ability, That s my opinion, and one that is not just restricted to me, but its your choice (being unseeded ) what level you play at.

AS for being patriotic. I am very... I'll support you if you get in the finals, But lose that bloody chip on your shoulder first.

Niall

PS Congrats on turning over BObs Iron men an outstanding feat for a NOVICE Team.!!

I don't know why you said what you said about niall but they has been enough on here recently about people on a personal nature so before this go's the wrong way delete it and start a new one saying why a very good (and you are) UK am team enters as a novice in the millenium.

And this is a valid point for at least a few uk teams.

With regard to how can a UK AM team play as Novice. Kellys were totally un -ranked which means they could effectively choose where they played. But they are now restricted to that status for one year.

Before any one thinks this is personal, it definitely is not. AS President of the Millennium Series I obviuosly get asked lots of questions. When Kellys name appeared in the Novice Rankings at Portugal I had about 6 calls questioning this, how could we the Millennium board let it happen.

To answer this - It is the choice of the team.

My criticism of Kellys was that, the team have been ripping other teams apart in the Northern tourney scene, and bearing in mind some of the players on the team I felt the term Novice was pushing it a bit.

Now in Kelly's defence. Novice in the Millennium Series pretty much equates to Am in the UK.

What we really need to start looking at is another "Rookie" division, to let the genuine Novices play in. Also don't know if you agree but shouldn't the terms PRO, AM and Novice go?

Digger.... I certainly take exception to is questioning my patriotism. I think over the years I have done enough for UK Paintball and am a great supporter of all British teams. I have found that respect is not something that you get given, its something that you have to earn. Try it.

Pro, Am and Novice

What would you suggest Niall that we replace these ranking's with.. It would be a good thing to do as it really does not mean anything....

Pro to me means that you get paid to play... I think that there are not that many teams that can say that they actually get paid to play the sport....

I look forward to hereing your ideas...

First of all Niall i'am sorry if my post sounded abbrasive to you but that was how i took your comment about the Kelly's in Portugal and assure you i have no chip.

I accept your response for what you have done for Paintball and British Paintball is just. Thankyou for responding.

Kelly's as Novice.

I am now speaking for myself as a Kelly player and not for the rest of the team players but feel i have their best views in mind.

Kelly's as a team felt it best to look at entering the Millenium Series by taking into account the long term envolvement and commitment the team/ players want to give the series so the team put the level of entry to the vote.

We took into consideration:
>The No. of new players in the squad.
>The Experience the team has playing Millenium.
>The level of Sponsership the team receives.
>The Level of Millenium Novice Teams which varies from Kings to Metralhas
>The large No. of great am teams which far outweigh the am level we play at in the u.k who have proved their worth season after season.

I won't explain the in's and out's of why people voted the way the did because that's their opinion.
The majority vote won and not everybody was happy but we do things as a team and the end result stuck. I feel now we made the correct descission as the team has to work hard in the millenium to prove are worth on an international scale.

The term Novice is not relative to a lot of teams competing in the Millenium but it is the level we are at right now in the millenium rankings.

I hope that justifies are actions to the other Millenium novice teams and to are friends that know us. You may not agree but those are the reasons which conform to the rules. It may seem shallow to some but we have to prove are worth as are many other good Millenium novice teams. Niall said we have to prove ourselfs and we agree with him.

By the way Niall, Charley Reed would laugh if he was on fire!
