Seems like the old days when we had all the Top UK Teams playing most weekends at UK events.
These events seem to be doing well at the moment with the top Teams now joining in which must be a good thing for players young and old to watch the top british Team fighting it out in front of there eyes. Its just a shame there not at the same events, but i'm sure that will happen before the year's out.
I suppose with the credit crunch, Teams can't afford to play all the milenium events and train in europe, so the other UK Teams like So Manc, Tigers 2, Relentlss, Enitity, the Firm, Definance and others, can get better by playing against these Top Teams, and, like at the NSPL, Top players were giving tips to the other Teams and helping out with coaching, so thats another positive thing for UK Paintball, so when other Teams do manage to play Milleniums and other events in europe it wil stand them in good stead!!!!!!!!

Lets keep it boys, and good luck to all Teams that are playing Milleniums this year

Twizz, seems to me that the more this credit-crunch grips our pockets, the closer to home we get in terms of looking for events to play in.
The Millennium was always out of reach for a lot of teams, not so much aspirationally but certainly financially.
The number of UK teams being forced to revoke their Millennium aspirations is increasing and it seems fortuitous that just at this time, we are trying to put the UK tournament scene back together after a disastrous few years.

The timing couldn't be better .....

It's all now a matter of maintaining the momentum and keeping politics OUT of tournament paintball and its promotion, easier said than done I know mate!

Still, I think enough well-meaning people have seen what is possible if we maintain the course we are taking; the industry are virtually all on board for this long haul, there will be problems along the way but the alternative was to do fcuk all and tournament paintball as we know it, would have regressed 20 years.

Keep it going Twizz, coz it's the sort of undoubted enthusiasm and love for our sport that you have that has thrown UK paintball this life-line.

totally agree on more uk teams looking closer to home for value for money, the milleniums are a huge drain on cash without sufficient sponsor support.

with the top end uk teams now on the domestic circuit, theres the opportunity to bash heads with div1/spl/cpl teams without even getting on a boat.

Mind you we are playing Malaga Div 2 at a cost of £1225, and went onto the PSP webb site and to play in Div 3 its $2350!!!!!!!! so the Millenium isn't so badly priced.

Fully agree Twizz, It's a win win situation.. Having the top four playing these UK events is great for teams like ourselves who aspire to be at that level, it's also great for newer teams to see the best players we have to offer and it's even good for the pro teams' sponsors to have their products being represented live in front of their main customer base.

without support you have to be looking at 400-500 quid to cover flight/accommodation/entry/paint and food? not saying its good or bad value but to the average player thats alot of cash for 4 days away. i think that may be a whole other debate tho.

certainly from my view i wanna be playing with and against the best there is, and gettin to play against shock/tigers/nexus/disruption is a huge attraction to any event if you go into it with the right mindset.
