Lots of changes have been happening in the Nexus Camp over the last few weeks.

To give you a little bit of history Nexus formed a second team (Nexus Eclipse) over a year ago to help cope with the commitments we made to the EXL (Europe’s X Ball League) After that demised at the end of 2004 we merged the two squads and ran with a 17 strong squad. It has become harder and harder to fund so many players. We had gotten up to 144,000 paintballs per practise !! With such a large squad we wanted to give as many players a chance as we could which at times meant fielding less experienced players that could have played. The decision was made to release several players and cut the roster down to 10 players.

The players that have been released are:

Fi$h
Jamie Brandon
Dave Copsey
Bif
Chris Summers
Pika

Also the newly signed Dan Maskel has been released. He has contractual obligations with the Russian Legion that are causing his training and playing with Nexus problems. So until this has been resolved Dan has been released.

This was a very hard decision to make, as all of the payers above have become our friends and family over the last 18 months. Everyone on Nexus wishes them all the luck in the world with whatever they end up doing. You will all be missed.

Good Luck Guys. See you around for a beer or 3.

If anyone out there is looking for a player or two you could do worst than this guys. New Skool killing machines.

Goodbye

I had the pleasure of captaining these guys on two occassions last year and they are a pleasure to be around and play with.

Bif, Fish, Brandon and Moz all played at Toulouse last year and achieved a very distinguished 5th place Pro, missing out on the Elite Sunday Club by a whisker (and a cheeky playing on run through by some Nordic fellas).

The event was one of the highlights of my career certainly.

They all played a part in the final EXL event of the year and despite it being their first X-Ball tourney beat Ton Tons and showed great maturity and calmness even under heavy defeats by the Legion and Tigers, always bouncing back for each game and playing hard and winning some very good points.

I know several of the guys are looking at taking a break but I know that they'll be back. One or two might even end up back with Nexus sometime in the future if they develope in the way I know that they can. I hope that is the case as they have all lived and breathed the Nexus cause over the last year or two.

Good luck to them all - they're all young and all can play ball.

To them all - No regrets!

Good luck to everyone and all future endevours.

I was just checking out the Nexus team web site and it seems a little out of date. (Just look at the profiles and the date of birth, compared to their ages :p )

Its a cool looking site, will it get updated now the changes in the team have happened?

Does this mean that Chris 'Cowboy' Summers can stop preaching the gospel according to Nexus now? ;) Joke.....

Best of luck to you all- esp. Pika...:)

Pika deserves no messages of good luck while he ponces round with a haircut like that! Makes him look like he just escaped from some woods dwelling tribe.

Lets hope all the boys find themselves a decent spot as soon as, there's a whole lot of raw talent making its way back on to the open market!
