Nexus News
London Nexus would like to announce the following additions to the squad for the 2008 season.
Clint Moore, who played with Nexus in 2006, and also Chris Watson have both joined from Shockwave. We feel that both Clint and Chris add great strength and depth to our already strong squad and both have shown their worth in training already. Also, joining us from Method is Jason Wheeler, being only 19 we are really looking at Jason to become a core player in the Nexus line up both currently and in the future. To datethe squad for this season is:
Leigh Digard
Tommy "Gun"
Dunny
Stefan Joyce
Clint Moore
Chris Watson
Jason Wheeler
Brandon short
Just so there is not confusion and to stop the little Mexican kicking my shins... Hugo has been put on loan to Lisbon Benfica for the season to help get them back into the CPL.
He will still be wearing the Gold and is still 100% Nexus though and through.
Nexus also decided to do something that we think is a first. We have started a “Nexus Affiliated Player Programme”. This was thought up with the long term future of the team in mind. It works by associating certain talented players with Nexus while at the same time allowing them to continue playing with their current team. The affiliated players have to attend a number of practises with the Nexus squad to make sure they’re heading in a direction we want them to and in return will receive our black and gold playing gear, with the exception of the Nexus CPL jersey. (It takes alot to earn one of those!)
I am pleased to announce that we have already selected three players from the recent trails held at our new training field, FREEKZ PAINTBALL and the first Nexus affiliated players are Dan Hill-Smith, Gus Blaires from Spain and Miguel Franco form Portugal. Miguel is only 14 years old and was previously spotted by Oliver Lang at a clinic held there.
To welcome the new guys, we are taking the whole squad plus the affiliated players to San Diego for our pre-season training with the LA Ironmen – talk about throw them in at the deep end!!!!
More news to come in the lead up to the start of the 2008 season.
Thanks
