After a bit of advice really as i am wanting to buy a dye I4 mask as my first mask but thin the top looks a little bit open and if it was raining that basically the mask would gets sehd loads of water in it? Am i completely wrong or is there an issue with water getting inside the mask as it does not have a visor which covers the venting at the top.

Any advice greatly received guys

Cheers

Every mask has venting at the top, it's to stop the lens from fogging up.
You are right though, the I4's don't come with a peak. Not too sure what'd happen as I've never played in the rain (Lucky me :p) but the I4's are awesome masks and have made many people happy. Worry about the rain when it comes to it.

when it comes to the rain, you shouldnt worry about it, as you'll be to busy running around, cookin' fools left right and centre, but normally get a bit of tape and stick it over the vent, that will stop the drips ;) although try not to breath to hard, because you've basically just blocked your main vent haha

Buying masks is really a case of try before you buy, unless you are lucky enough to be restricted in your choice by sponsorship constraints.

While the I4s are excellent and suit many people, they are a low profile design with all the extra trimmings pared down, this includes the option of a peak/visor for wet weather play (though Billy Wing managed to graft on on to his).

Many players never use a visor anyway, you can use a peaked beanie or a baseball cap to substitute for a peak in bad weather, stopping water from running in the upper vents fairly well.

Hope that helps.
