I haven't got bags of money to spend, my max budget is £300 but I'm looking at spending around £250 (that's including Marker + Hopper + Gas Tank + Mask). That seems quite hopeful I know however I have figured out a way for me to get it all for £240 and get good quality stuff but I wanna know what you guys think...

Here's the gear I'm thinking about getting (I've converted the dollars to pounds as you can see where needed):

Marker:
Piranha GTI Rampage = $120 = £82
+ Halo B Loader /w Rip Drive = $94.50 = £64
+ Guerilla Air System 48ci 3000psi = $59.95 = £41

Mask:

- JT ProFlex = £45

And then for servicing my marker as I don't have a kit:
- Hoppe's Paintball Gun Cleaning Kit = $11.97 = £8

That all comes to £240 - what do you think to my choices based on my budget?

ill say this, the classifides are your get friend.
you can get a very nice ion or slg for about £70 - £100, rather than a piranha.
good choice of hopper, but again, so much cheaper in the wanted's on this site.
air system seems good, but DO NOT BUY FROM AMERICA unless they say its for UK use, otherwise you cant fill them in this country.

good mask choice, good idear to buy new.

as for parts, if you get a working marker, all you will need is a lil lube, which most people will sell with the markers anyway, if you need any extra, buy it as you need it.

ps, a friend of myn is currently selling a vibe for £80, he may even go lower, its a very nice started marker for the price too.
his add is somewere in the classifides.

so you could gett that kit, or better for about
£200 or so

Bear in mind if you buy from the states you will also have to pay import duty (unless the item is less than £32 pounds I believe) which is not cheap. My friend made that mistake and it cost him around £70 in taxes.
Like the last guy said, buy off the classifieds. You'll get a much better marker.

In addition, none of the prices above are THAT cheap. I'd look at an SLG/Ion/PMR from these classifieds, which will be a lot cheaper.

Cheers

Thanks to all above posts.

The reason I picked the Piranha GTI Rampage is due to it having the very nice Rampage Board. It also is very light, and got a fairly good barrel (I would upgrade at a later date). I would like a stock on my marker however I don't think you can have one with Piranha's - that's its downfall. The main plus of having the gun is the Rampage Board - 8 different firing modes and it can be reprogrammed to over 20bps apparently and my hopper can do 22+ bps...

I don't really want to buy a classified marker but if there are cheaper, better markers please post links to them or a couple of stats if possible...

Cheers guys,

/Harcane :)

All the modern electros have a number of firing modes, and settings that can be changed. However most walk ons, tournies etc make you put your gun into one mode, which should work relatively similar on all gun board types.

Buying a second hand marker on here is not such a bad choice if you choose wisely, plus with the outstanding support from most pball companies, if anything were to go wrong, its not so bad to get it fixed at all. Double plus, there are many experienced members on this board, if you find a fault, post in the techroom and someone will come to your aid. 99% of the time there is a simple fix.

Whatever you buy, take time to learn how to maintain it properly. Even something like lubing it after a days play is a fine art. You cant just slap in gobs of lube, so its worth looking up on youtube and asking on here, and making sure you know as much as you can about your new marker.

Happy hunting!

damit Bolter, you beat me to the punch!!!! :)

To be honest mate, dont get caught up with the fancy jargon, majority of electronic markers will have multiple fire modes and the ability to set the bps etc.

Ideally you want a marker from the UK with good customer service or one that can be easily advised on. Piranhas aren't commonly used.

Stick with Dye/Proto/Smart Parts/Ego, you want something along these lines.

The classifieds on here are brilliant, the majority of gear has been looked after really well, you can get advice off board memebers and its extremely cheap compared to new markers (Its a buyers market mate!)

Good luck with your search.
