am i right in saying that almost every single item on american sites such as ANS, alot cheaper? im looking on empires webby and a carbon fiber is 140 dollars,,, around 90 pounds,, i know this doesnt include shipping. it just seems thats its really cheap.

Theres also an import tax as well as shipping so UK prices are always higher (The quantity bought in by the company can also reflect retail price)

It is but you have to look at the shipping cost. This can be any price depending on the weight of the item and how quick you want the item. If you get caught by customs there will be a 20% vat charge on the goods and postage and then the post office will charge you £8 to collect the money for customs. So in all it may not be as cheap as you think. Also you have to think about warranties.

So your £90 + £25 for postage= £115 + 20% vat (£23) then postage office costs total £146 no so cheap now.

I found out hard about the vat on the postage as I imported some harley davidson parts in to the UK as they were not for sale in the UK and couldnt work out why the vat was a lot more that it should have been and that's when the post office explained that Customs charge on the item and postage
