im just starting to think seriously about getting into paintball. but before i spend any amount of money i need to know if there are any paintball sites in the area i live in. Ive looked around but cany find any shops or much of anything to do with paintball in my area. Any help would be appreciated.

I live in PLYMOUTH in DEVON.

Also are there any good newbie sites aorund that describe some of the basic terminology of paintball, and differences in markers etc..

Finally where would you reccomend getting the markers if there are no shops in my area. what about ebay or other such sites. Ive been told to try before i buy, which sounds good, but this all comes back to the problem of sites in my area.

Marker

My advice would be getting a second hand or new spyder, as they are easy to maintain and are relatively cheap compared to others. Or a black dragun is a nice starting electric marker

You can find spyders literally anywhere, and i've grown out of my dragun so i may be selling it....

Spuggy dude.

Look at www.southwestpaintball.co.uk loads of sites in SW. Also lots of teams looking for players.

Next SW League event is at Portishead this Sunday. After that I think is Crealy. Most games are played at sites up as far as Bristol although Heavens Gate at Bournemouth was a blast.

Best if you try to attend some events, we are a friendly lot, and talk to some teams. 2nd hand kit is best to start with as you get a lot more for your cash. You have lots to buy if you want to play tournaments, goggles, kit, marker, battlepack...etc, etc.

When you have decided you want to play seriously most teams will lend you a marker to play with at first.

Feel free to come and find Paintballbudgie, I am well known on the classifieds section, I play for Blitz and will be at all the SW League events and always have spare kit at reasonable prices.

Remember, don't overspend on kit and not be able to afford to play. Cheers.

i think budgie has it all covered there except one thing.....

the first and most important bit of kit you should be buying is not a marker......find yourself a good quality mask that you are comfy with, far more important that anything else you will buy

Hey, my advice is the same to everyone and its spot on.

When the ultimate shouts game on you stand up and wait for the opposition to start shooting, if they haven't hit you after30 seconds you can then get to your barricade.

Nothing wrong with that, got us 3rd this weekend. ;)
yeah got us 3rd along with an injured knee and a very bruised shoulder i think next time during the first 30 seconds it might be best to at least shoot back.
