Hello all.

Ok, firstly, I won't claim to be an expert on paintballing, and I've only spent 3 whole days playing it.

However, I know sort of what I'm on about, but sometimes struggle with the more advanced lingo.

What I'm looking for, is the following advice on Paintballing Gear :

Mask :

My Specification -

- Anti-Fog Double Lens
- Good Quality + Amount of Protection (Safety first)
- Option to add fan to help clear if desired later on
- Price Range of £15-£40
- Black/Woodland Camo
- Available for Order in the UK

Examples I've been recommended -

- V-Force Profiler
- V-Force Pro Vantage
- JT ProFlex 8 Thermal Goggles

----------------------------------------------------------

Markers + Accessories :

My Specification -

- Suitable for Woodland Terrain
- Just less than 300 feet/second (UK Legal Limit)
- 14" (Inch) Barrel
- Comfortable hand grip for non-trigger hand = Possible extra handle or flat surface
- Price Range = Unsure but not too high preferably
- Black/Woodland Camo
- CO2, although I've been recommended HPA (is it allowed for Rec use ? If so, that please)
- Available for Order in the UK

Accessories -

- Red Dot Sight / Scope for slight zoom (Open to advice)
- Barrel Sock
- Loaders/Hoppers (Open to advice)

Examples I've been recommended -

- Kingman's Spyder Range - no specific marker recommended yet
- Halo Loader Range - no specific loader recommended yet

----------------------------------------------------------

Clothing :

- Black/Woodland Camo Hoody
- Protective Gloves
- Elbow + Knee Pads
- Paintball-designed Boots

----------------------------------------------------------

Anything you guys could link to me for each of these sections would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried many Paintball forums, but two are yet to validate my account after 48 hours and the other hasn't had a single reply in over 24 :(. So I'm hoping you guys might be able to help me out.

Thanks very much in advance,

/Xanten

In my opinion you would be better off with the JT flex 8 goggles, the lenses are hassle free compared to V-force goggles and they can have a fan fitted, once again something i've learned from experience (bare in mind i used JT's for marshalling and V-force grillz for play)

And i'd go for a tippman marker instead of a spyder. From experience i've seen customers coming to my site with nothing but problems with spyders. Try a tippmann A5 or X7, easily customisable up the the balls for recballers and they are very reliable guns, try their website for more information http://www.tippmann.com/ . A recomendation of mine would to scout dealer websites as well, ie Lips www.lpspaintball.biz , if you speak to John or Chris im sure they could sort you out with a suitable package on the marker and other assorted gear including clothing and pads.

Thanks for that, the JT ProFlex's sound good, as did the V-Force ones, which is why I am unsure. Do you have any knowledge or bad experiences as to why the V-Force models I mentioned should be steered clear from ?

Will look into the Tippman A5/X7s now, hope they meet my Spec, thanks. Not sure on where to buy my gear yet, so will check out your second link.

Well, the V-force goggles are a single pane lense with an anti-mist coating, so if you mistreat the lenses (ie wash the inside in-appropriatley - or even let paint residue sit there long enough) you're going to ruin that coating and have problems with fogging. However, the jt thermal lense is effectively double glazed and so does not require the anti-mist coat, so basically their effective life is longer.

You're doing the right thing by taking your time, scouting around and asking questions. But seriously get goggles before you get a gun. Once you've got the goggles, get to a site and try out other people's stuff to find out what you like the feel of.

You obviously havent owned Vforce goggles or a more recent edition of Vforce goggles.

The grillz are the easiest lenses to get at and change period and you will find that you dont need an antifog lense on them as the foam creates a good "sealent from out side air so it does not cause foggging. The JT are sometimes awkward to get at the goggles but do offer an antifog lense. Grillz FTW!

As for a marker its each to there own really but why not try PMR they are going really cheap and they are a great buy.

just dont rush into anything and enjoy it :)

Try reading previous posts ;) And trust me, i've used V-force lense cleaner, ever since i left paint on the inside of my grillz lense for a half hour and it ruined the coating. Enough fan boy rants please? People here are trying to offer genuine advice after sampling the various products over several years.

1st of all is your goggles. jt flex 8 camo would be best for you.

depending on what kinda gear you want to wear.. you can get british dpm style top and pants from loads of online army surplus shops or perhaps the invert digicamo line?

battle pack . again you can get a camo battle pack/tac vest depending on how you wanna go about playing. nxe do a 3+4 and 4+5 (unsure on other sizes) in a digicamo design. very comfy packs also ;)

marker. first thing to find out is if your local site (or where your gonna be playin) uses air or co2. if air is used then the world is your oyster. if co2 then your pretty limited to mechanical markers. if this is the case then definately go for a tippmann marker and you cant beat them for mechnical woodsball and can upgrade them to look like anything. if air is available then the only thing to limit your options is possibly your budget.
