lol k wel basically u get back people who stand at the bak blazing paint shouting out where all the enemy people are to the mids and forwards. mids are helpin forwards and forwards die. forwards try to get right stuck in at the front very close to the enemy almost shotin them in the side or bak rather than the front whilst getting covered by mids who can shoot the baricades ther in to keep them tucked in there little baricade so u can eventually mug them 9run up close and shoot). hope this is a bit of help. if you look around this forums other people wil go into it with more detail.
u got marker and a mask yet cause if not av a look around the classifides forum. thats were the buyin and sellin go's on and u can get some gud deals
yes i have vl maxis eg marker and some gear sounds like mid player would be a good place to start even bought dvd to see what gose on god they shoot fast just need a team to have a go with now i gues
If you post in the Announcements forum your location and that you are wanting to start in Tournie Ball I'm sure a few teams will express some interest. Lot's of teams always looking for new players.

Ill try to sum this up real good. Since your new to the sport before you can understand what these guys are saying you have to know some terms.
Hopper(Simple one)- The 'loader' on your gun.
Barrel Plug or barrel condum-The thing required at most fields that you stick into your barrel so incase it fires it will be clogged by the barrel plug/or condum.
Marker- Paintball gun.
Mug/Bunkering- When you go around either side of someone around a bunker and shoot them. You may even go above them same idea.
N2- Nitrogen like c02 but is cleanier and more compressed thus giving more shots. You get 5 shots per cubic inch (ci for short) for 1500 Pounds per square inch (Psi for short)

HPA-High Pressure Air
Wiping- When someone gets hit by a paintball and then wipes the paint off too show that they were not hit.
Alright there are some starting terms (sorry if they were a little basic im bored) Basically some helpful tips for a beginner would be to not be afraid of getting hit if you are more times then not you get out because of it. Also play agressivley (sp?) move when your opponents not looking and dont be afraid too move up.

mate if you are interested in playing tourney level, and dont mind driving to scotch corner we (carrots are always) welcoming new blood if you have a look on the thread "any teams in newcastle" i have put a reply on there...... also there are some lads who are leaving, selling kit, eg gary-carrot has an add in classifieds for a bargain dark angel which will more than do ya for a marker ?
