I think it is quite obvious and has been discussed in various threads but it goes like this.
Most peoples only experience of paintball is as a punter and some may take to it and others may just do it the once. Of those that grow to love it (Me included in those days) can play it for years as a punter and never realise that there is another level as it is not in the sites interest to educate you.
If you are luck enough to play in an area where a site hosts walk on days or tournaments, or a lucky search on the internet then you may find out that there is more going on.
Other than meeting a player and the above there is no scope for introducing new players to the tournament scene. The Paintball Association League, whether you think it is crowding an already crowded fixture list has as one of it's core aims to expand public awareness of the sport and thus, hopefully, open a conduit for getting more players into the sport.
I think 2004 is going to be a struggle for many teams, mine included, with tournaments going to 7 man formats and with two extra tournaments to contend but I think the P.A. League in the end will be nothing but good for the sport.
IMO
