As the title says we are a new team, we have 10 people in total that want to start a team. We are based in Somerset and was looking for some advise on how to get in the sport properly. so here goes, thanks for any help!

1.what tournament would you advise joining?

2.we have a mix of markers (co2 and compressed air) will this pose an issue in any way?

3. Are there rules for maximum team size?

4. Have we missed the "break in break out" for this year (sorry if the terms not correct)

5.uniform, is it necessary for new teams or would matching tshirt do the job?

6. Any other things / snags that we should know?

Thanks again for any help!!

Depends what type of tournament you guys want to play in. As for speedball Ud probably be best entering into the CPPS. If you guys are newbies I suggest you enter into the break-in league which is like a new league for new teams. No it's not to late to enter the next round is on June 6th/7th but the break in league is played on the 6th which is the Saturday. All you need to do is let Ainsley know that your team or teams will be attending so they can organise fixtures and pits for the day.

Your team would probably have to all use compressed air as the cpps only uses conpressed air facilities and most speedball legal markers will only run on conpressed air in any case. I woudlnt worry too much about matching clothes as your new to the sport so can't see it being a problem.

For your roster I think the maximum is 9, unless you wanted to submit 2 teams of 5. Unsure about this rule tho. It might be worth getting a base sponsership for paint too.

1.what tournament would you advise joining?
Probably cribbs causeway
But if you can travel then get around and cpps & bricket wood will get you more experience - and the opportunity to watch and learn

2.we have a mix of markers (co2 and compressed air) will this pose an issue in any way?
You won't get co2 at tournament sites, but co2 guns can run on air
You will also most likely be outgunned if running co2 guns

3. Are there rules for maximum team size?
Maybe maximum roster sizes, but the more you have the better chance of fielding a team on the day and having a pit crew
Start as you mean to go on and get your pits under control. Always get ready first, gear up, fill paint and air, tidy as you go

4. Have we missed the "break in break out" for this year (sorry if the terms not correct)
You won't get anywhere in the overall tournament for a year, but every round is a new one. As long as it's not a locked series then you can sign up for a single round

5.uniform, is it necessary for new teams or would matching tshirt do the job?
Not essential. Just be aware of who's on your team or the others
For divability and protection then a jersey will come with the padding to help you out
You can get some bargain jerseys, eg jerseys clinic came to our attention when one of us bought almost their entire stock, everything at £10

6. Any other things / snags that we should know?

Thanks again for any help!!

That's cool I don't think many of us expected to get anywhere this season!

What kind of charges would be involved in a break in tournament?

When It comes to team size we have ten people that want to play, whether or not they will all ways be available is another thing! Haha

Will have to look in to the jerseys, were they decent quality for that price?

Also for sponsorship wouldn't we have to get somewhere before that kind of thing?

Thanks for the help so far guys!

The break-in league has a couple of different rules such as the instead of ramping Ull be playing on 10.5 BPS capped semi auto. In the break-in league you also have a wider start gate but Id get use to using the normal start gate to avoid bad habits for later divisions.

Best place to go for jerseys is either Jerseys clinic or anthrax.

Nope just paintball offer a sponsorship aslong as there's 5 people in your team and aslong as you buy paint from them at events. Oh yeah and also wear there logo on your team Jersey

Right okay so for now I would need to speak to ainsley at cpps for more detail? (Anyone have his details or if he's on here possibly tag him in?)

Just had a quick look at jersey clinic (looks sick) will have a go at the break ins and as long as that goes well then will put an order in. Is it based in the states? If so is there a massive charge on shipping?

You said the guns are restricted to 10.5 bps. Most of the guys have parahnah's can bps be tweaked as required or is it simply one setting?

99% of sponsorship is a support arrangement with a discount
Any supplier will give you some benefit, but you have buying power too
They are giving you the discount so that you come back for more

Don't get drawn into a sponsorship that may not meet your needs, there are many manufacturers programmes which give a good discount on a complete package such as a guns, hoppers, clothing, goggles and a paint deal. But what if you already have gear , or someone already prefers the wrong brand.
There are teams who jump to the next sponsor each year (or players switching teams and to a new sponsor)
And you will see people selling gear 'due to new sponsor and I can no longer use it' or having to buy the New Years model and sell the last one
Decide amongst yourselves if you have a manufacturer preference, and seek that sponsorship, or leave that item open to player choice

With paint for your first tournament you probably don't want to lock in just for that but more saving
If playing break in or break out you will have a lower rof, eg 10.5bps semi and will probably make do with 10 cases. Split that between 5 players and its two cases each, between 10 it's one case each. For every £1 sponsorship discount you save the team £10 but each players bill only saves £1 or £2
So just be cheeky and ask for a discount, they will give you a discount or you walk to the next trader
when you're more certain that you want a relationship with that shop or you find that you don't want to walk next door and you do want x paint and to do business with x supplier then you know who you want as a sponsor

Go onto the OKPB website his email or details should be on there somewhere.

As far as Ino Jersey clinic are based in europe, hense why it's in euros.

From the sounds of things you guys have the wrong type of marker for speedball. What markers have your team mates actually got ?

Cpps info at
http://m.okpb.co.uk

£200 team entry for break in/out
So £20 each if split among 10
You can also camp for free, which will be good for the next round (for the first rounds of the year and possibly the last round it can be cold and hotels would be preferred)
Then add paint; travel etc

They are polish, so just European postage and no import duty

With a mechanical gun you would not be able to limit the bps limit so it may not be allowed. You will need someone to confirm

For markers we have an etek3 four parahnah's (not sure what model) amd two a5's. Will be upgrading at some point but need to get in to it before investing heavily!
