Seen over on PBnation about new software 5.0 and 6.0 to cure the shutdown issue which randomly appears. (I knew I want going mad when it happened on mine

WDP has developed the "latest" software for the speed 05 and fly which is flashed onto your board.
This incorparates the "new" ramping 15bps etc.....
This might also cure your problem??
Cost's about £25 to get it done.

been there, done that, enjoyed the ramp mode at the PA
from what it said of this update - 5.0 is for users who had standard software before and is free to upgrade to all it does is get rid of the shutdown bug. 6.0 is for people who have paid for the psp mode and will be free to them as it gives psp and gets rid of the bug.
like before if you have standard software, you have to pay to get the ramping.

THE FOLLOWING WILL EXPLAIN THE CORRECTION AVAILABLE FOR THE SPEED 05 LOCK UP ISSUE AS OF THE 15/04/05.
A software bug was found in the program codes interaction on some 05 speed boards.
A simple upgrade will solve the problem you are experiencing.
Please note that not all 05 speeds will have this issue so if your gun isn’t shutting down you don’t need this correction.
To obtain this correction remove the circuit board assembly from your Speed 05 following the owner’s manual procedures.
Go to your favourite warranty centre; See the list of the centres doing this upgrade below with their Web addresses to their sites)
Fill out the service centres service form and ship the circuit board assembly.
This upgrade is free; but you are responsible for the shipping so include a method of payment for the shipping.
Question: Do I need this upgrade?
Answer: Possibly check additional questions below.
Question: Does your 05 experience locking up during use?
Answer: NO you do not need to upgrade
Answer: YES. Please proceed to the next question.
Question: Does this problem disappear if you turn the Angel OFF then ON?
Answer: NO. This is not a software issue ensure your eyes are functioning.
Answer: YES. You should have the software upgrade.
Question: Can I also get the PSP / CFOA / Millennium & Ramping modes done while it is at the Tech Centre?
Answer: YES you can the software upgrade for PSP / CFOA / Millennium & Ramping will cost US $25.00 or €25:00 or £20 dependant on location
Question: How long does this upgrade take?
Answer: Usually less than a week. Question: Will you be doing this at major events?
Answer: Yes we will be doing this upgrade at any event that the techs attend. Question: Will anything else change in the way my marker will perform?
Answer: YES if you have paid for the additional modes PSP / CFOA / millennium & Ramping modes your software version will also change.
Answer: NO. If you have had the bug fix only, but your software version will change.
Question: Is this an approved repair from WDP?
Answer: YES. Question: Can my local dealer or I do this myself?
Answer: NO, sorry the software is proprietary and requires special programming capabilities that have been supplied to our listed Tech Centres below.
