If you want to do it seriously i reccomend a marker and a mask, they are the main things. but you will also need things for maintaining the marker and sumthin to wear when you play.

Depends at what level you are talking...

There are loads of site all over the place, which you can book a days play, and rent everything you need from them..

But if you have already done that and want your own kit, what you need to start would be

1) sense of humour
2) Mask, you really need to get a mask specifically designed for paintball
3) Marker
4) Co2/Air System

and thats about it to start

If you are starting out then your best bet is to buy a package.
In this you will get a marker (gun), protective face mask, CO2 tank and a hopper. This is the basic level of kit you will need. Buying a package has pros and cons. The pros are that you tend to save a bit of money but the cons are that you rarely cannot tailor the package to your needs. Do you live in the UK? If so then there are not many paintball shops around so your choices are limited.
