Fear not people, for there is a new paintball Tournament series due to start in the South. My partner and I are very near to completion, and hope to be announcing more very soon. The first of the new tournament series is planned to take place in the summer. The series will consist of between 4 to 6 Legs a years, held on a dedicated site, which caters solely for tournament players, NO Rec ballers.

We are planning to offer cash prices up to 3rd place for each leg of the series. There will be four sub air fields set up for 7-man games. We are also talking about making the fields available monthly or even fortnightly, for teams to come down and training. Team training will depend on the response we get from teams as to whether or not we do that.

Basically, people it is a new site that is solely aimed at teams and tournament players, when it is finished it will be hopefully caters for all the needs of you the players. We have held off from announcing any thing until all the marketing and contracts have been signed and we are fully up and running, but after reading the posts above I figured we give you and very brief insight as to what is planned.

It would be helpful if we could gage your reaction to our plans.
Q) Does the idea of a site solely built for teams and tournament appeal to people?
Q) Does the idea of cash prices at the end of each leg sound good?
Q) Would people want us to make the site available for team training on a fortnightly or monthly bases or not at all?

Please Pm me or reply to this thread and help us to make this new tournament series the best that it can be.

sounds great but???

ucan u give us a rough idea of the area in which it will be held i know u said south but could u be more precise ?

also as long as dates don't clash with dartford 7's then am sure u will get a great turnout what i will say regarding the training facilities is there are alot of sites locally but not many of them offer full sup air facilities and what i would say is if it goes ahead then you will also get locals who will want to set up there teams from the site which usually happens at most sites.

anyway good luck with this and look forward to seeing how it turns out.

regards:D :D

jinx76, we are still in talks with people over contracts and the like. What I will say is that we are looking at three possible sites, the most likely just outside the city of Bath; the second site is in Hampshire and the third near Swindon.

Dartford 7's and other tournaments are one factor in why we haven't open yet, we don't want to step on people toes so we are trying to schedule it all so that we don't clash with other tournaments.

A) Yes, sounds like a plan. None of my business but could a site like that survive without charging a huge entry price?
B) Sounds fantastic, but same as above.
C) Yeah definately.

Do you have any ideas on entry costs, etc yet? maybe it's too early for all that but a rough idea would be good. Also where abouts is the Hampshire site? Closer to Basingstoke the better ;)

Simon, I'd be lying if I said we weren't in it to make some money, but with the plans we have drawn up we would charge £350-£400 per team for entry to the Tournaments, Paint would be sold at £40, £45 and £50 per box, depending on what class of paint we wanted. All our paint is due to be Draxxus paint (contract pending).

As we say still needing to finalise and sign contracts so these are rough prices. The Hampshire site we are looking at is near the beach by Southampton, but this site is not our first choice.

Ummm for tounaments, what about teams who have Paint Deals with specific suppliers. I'll think your find, teams will only use the paint manufacturers they are incentivised to use....

Or is the Paint for those without Paint deals / training days???

Obvious point but worth clearing up.

Just thought id chip my 2p in.

Ditch the cash prizes and just charge a little less entry or have a coupla extra marshals (or pay them a bit more.). Cash prizes aint gonna pay for the day anyway so why bother.

Are you saying the torni will be field paint only, that does limit the teams who have agreements with paint companies on an incentivised buying scheme or sponsorship.

Bath is in the middle of nowhere move it close to london.:D :D

I'm glad you asked about teams with paint deals. We understand that it can be a pain for those teams who have paint deals, so we decided that the you can only BYO paint if two conditions are met, 1) you have a paint deal with someone else and 2) you can prove this in writing. We have to have the second point in otherwise what would stop every one from saying they have paint deals and bring there own.

We will also be offering teams who regular take part in our tournaments or who use the site for team training on a regular bases, paint sponsorship. We just need to work out some logistics on this, so nothing is final on this last point.

Top Cash would be enough to pay for your paint for the day, unless you go totally mad on the paint.

Should also point out the £350-£400 entry fee would be for a two day tournament.

London costs too much to only have a tournament/team training site, we would have to take on Rec balers for that, and that is the one thing we have agreed not to do. We will not be having Rec balers on the same site as tournament and team training.
