New milling design, Opinions wanted

Heya guys and gals,

I would just like you to give your opinion on these two designs, let me know what you think. Please be as critical as possible!! I think you'll work out what marker they are for...

Still in the concept stage at the moment as you can probably tell, if you are interested they are modelled in Pro-Engineer Wildfire...

Prefer the second link (ego_1.jpg)... as for working out what gun they're for... change the title of the image if you want it to be a secret

Don't like the first one as too many areas for paint to get stuck in.

Would you have to do custom eye covers for the second one as well as the top and bottom tubes would leave a gap on the standard eye covers?

My general philosophy is:

1 anything that shaves weight is good.

2 any cuts that allow dirt to get into the bolt or internals is bad

3 any extraneous cuts on the outside where paint can sit is bad

ignore them, the only reason they dont like it is because they cant be arsed to get off their backside and make something original themselves.
i like both they are nice btw

I think I would just add a raised section a la nexus so standard eye covers can be used. Need to try and figure out an original light but cool looking design, and I think I'll scrap the Ying-Yang logo...
